Consumer says flagstone patio is a work of art

Alexandria, Virginia, member Anthony Mazzoccoli enjoys driving up to his home now, after a new patio and driveway installation as well as front porch and walkway repair by highly rated Bright Masonry, a division of Bright Construction Group of Merrifield, Virginia.

“The curb appeal has significantly improved, and the patio has become the centerpiece of the backyard,” Mazzoccoli says. “It’s mason artistry that I couldn’t be happier with!”

Mazzoccoli considered the upgrades and repairs for about five years before hiring Bright Construction Group for the $9,000 project.

“All in all, I couldn’t be happier, and the price was much more affordable than other mason contractors we had gotten quotes from,” Mazzoccoli says.

Mazzoccoli replaced a 54-year-old cement patio with a flagstone patio. The driveway was a combination of the original driveway, built in 1960, and a new section replaced 20 years ago. The newer section looked bad and needed to be replaced, so Bright redid the entire driveway, Mazzoccoli says.

Although flagstone laid on the front walkway and porch was only 4 years old, the cement wasn’t laid correctly and loosened after each winter. In addition, the repair stopped the cement porch from deteriorating further.

“The patio looks like artwork,” Mazzoccoli says. “The driveway was designed to meet the curvature of the property, and the work on the front staircase was flawless.”

Mazzoccoli credits the fabulous outcome to the foreman, a mason who actually worked for seven years repairing cathedrals in France.

“He takes pride in his work and has an excellent rapport with his crew,” Mazzoccoli says.
