Consumer says auto body paint job makes car look new
The high humidity and hot temperatures took a toll on Apex, North Carolina, Angie’s List member Y. P.’s 1998 model car. The paint began peeling several years ago, giving it the appearance of a car ready for the scrap yard, Y.P. says.
“I love the car, and want to keep it for as long as I can,” the member wrote in a review.
To restore the car to its original glory, Y.P. hired highly rated Affordable Auto Painting & Body Repair of Raleigh, North Carolina, to re-paint the car. The $1,500 job included a base paint, color and clear coat.
“The price was excellent — easily 50 percent below any other starting prices I found,” Y.P. says. “Most places I called said that their price starts at $3,000, which was ridiculously high. My car’s trade-in value would not justify such an expense.”
Y.P. checked several shops before settling on Affordable Auto Painting & Body Repair. Y.P. also checked Angie’s List for reviews. However, Y.P. knew the shop was the right place for the job after speaking to the owner over the phone and in person, the member stated in the review.
Y.P. picked up the car four days after dropping it off. The paint job included a two-year warranty, and the owner explained to Y.P. how to care for the car to preserve the paint for as long as possible.
“The color is deep, uniform, shiny and matching my original color perfectly,” Y.P. says. “The car looks brand new.”
