Consumer says Arlington Heights furniture store delivered shoddy sofa
I purchased a special-order sofa from La-Z-Boy in Arlington Heights, Ill. The material has the wrong backing for the loose back pillows, and the material gaps or is pulled too tight on some parts of the sofa. The corporate office won’t allow me to do anything to exchange the sofa. I wanted to exchange it with something off the floor of a La-Z-Boy store, and was told absolutely not.
I tried to work with them, but they would only offer a band-aid solution to the problem of the fabric, which is cheap and affects the look and wear of the sofa. They offered to have their repair company come in and repair two arms of the sofa, but that won’t take care of the fact that the fabric is cheap and inappropriate for use on this style of sofa. The fabric is piling from vacuum and brushing to remove lint that is attracted to it like a magnet.
I want them to either refund $1,900 or exchange the sofa with an item off the floor that has quality fabric.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
