Consumer says Amelia landscaper left job incomplete
I hired French Brothers Landscaping of Amelia, Ohio, to spread mulch. They didn’t call to confirm the rescheduled date, but just showed up instead.
I told them I wasn’t expecting them because they had to prepare the beds and fill the holes. The didn’t prepare the beds and started spreading mulch, even covering weeds. I paid $585 for them to spread mulch over unprepared beds. They didn’t pull one weed.
I’ve called back numerous times asking them to finish the work, but no one called back. I paid another company to complete the work. I want a $300 refund.

We take great pride in our work and go the extra steps to ensure our clients are happy. In this instance, we failed to make the client happy. I’m not happy, but the client requested we complete a cleanout, which we did. Then the client called us back, requesting we lay mulch.
I went out to see how much mulch would be needed to complete the job, and we discussed the mulch and the holes in the beds. I sent my guys out to do the job, had them take the topsoil to fill in the holes and mulched the entire area — everything we cleaned out just a couple weeks earlier. She didn’t mention while I was there that she wanted the beds weeded again, nor did she say anything to the guys while they were there.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
