Consumer accepts refund from Boca Raton cleaning service
I hired A-Maculate Cleaning Service of Boca Raton, Florida, based on their rating and reviews on Angie’s List, to clean my two-bedroom, two-bathroom villa house. The employees came 15 minutes early, which was a great start. I showed them through my home and went over my areas of concern. They said it would take about 2.5 hours.
I gave them my cell phone number so they could text me when they were about 20 minutes from finishing. I came home and at first glance was very impressed, and I tipped each of them $20. I did a quick walk-through and what they cleaned was sparkling.
Unfortunately, when I looked closer, I saw they took a lot of shortcuts. For example, they cleaned one door in the shower, but not the other. They cleaned the top and pedestal of the dining room table, but not the base. They cleaned behind the sofa in the den, but didn’t move it to clean under it. They didn’t move the coffee table, but cleaned around it. In the kitchen, they wiped down the stove, but not the refrigerator. They mopped between the stove and the cabinets on one side and not the other.
The areas they cleaned were beautiful, but they didn’t do the whole job. I paid $117 plus a $40 tip for partial service. I will never use them again!
I want a $105 refund and an apology from Bernadete since the response she wrote on my review is totally untrue. She never offered to come to my home or to have her staff return and finish the job. All she was concerned with was that I receive the 10 percent back and she asked me to change my review. She did send me a check for $12. That was her resolution.

I don’t disagree with the member because we value customer satisfaction. I’m deeply sorry for the inconvenience, but this might have been a misunderstanding. I truly wanted to satisfy her in any way possible. The $12 I sent back was a 10 percent discount or the first time cleaning, that she was entitled to and I never asked her to change her review. Once again, my sincere apologies and I hope some day we will be able to make it up to you.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
