Conroe homeowner says concrete patio and steps had to be redone

COMPLAINT: Cynthia Hinson, Conroe, Texas

"I hired Gehring Construction LLC as part of a larger project to frame up and pour concrete steps and a patio. Gerry Gehring didn't provide his workers with what was needed to do a good job.

"He left the premises as soon as work began, saying, 'I hope it doesn't rain today.' He hadn't given his workers any plastic to cover the concrete in case of rain. The surface began to flake away in clumps about a week later, and he refused to do anything about it.

"The general contractor on the job eventually took it out. Now, Gehring is threatening to file a lien on my property, even though all his work had to be taken out and redone. When I called him, he said, 'I don't care what you do; I'm getting my money!'"

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I don't want to tangle with him. I want him to stop threatening to put a lien on my house."

STATUS: Penalty Box
