Company resolves Boston-area refrigerator repair complaint

I bought a top-of-the-line refrigerator from Sears [290 Providence Highway, Dedham]. After it was installed, the bottom freezer kept icing up and chunks of ice were surrounding everything in the freezer.

The on/off switch for the ice maker couldn't be engaged because it was frozen solid in the off position. We called the service department.

They came out and tried to increase the temperature in the freezer from zero to 5 degrees. That didn't work. We called again and the service man came out a second time, and did nothing but tell us that we have our freezer open too much.

We kept it closed but the problem persisted. They came out a third time and said a sealant needed to be installed because it was leaking air. I didn't buy an expensive refrigerator to have it look bad because of a sealant.

Desired resolution: I want the defective refrigerator replaced immediately.
