Columbus moving company resolves homeowner’s complaint
I hired Integrity First Moving of Columbus, Ohio, to move bedroom furniture, a TV, two bookshelves and a few boxes from my studio apartment to a one-bedroom apartment. The 25-minute drive from one apartment to the next ended up taking over an hour.
When the driver opened the back of the truck, all my stuff was smashed into a huge pile. The TV was on the bottom of the heap and the dresser mirror on the top. The queen bed rail was smashed and the TV speakers were damaged. The movers then dragged the bookshelves across the truck floor and cement and scraped the bottom side of both.
It was unbelievable. Ninety percent of the items they moved were damaged and they aren’t willing to replace them or compensate me for the damages. I want a $1,000 refund.

I’m very sorry to hear our services were not performed to your satisfaction. After further review, I am unable to offer more than I previously offered for a refund. Please note I’ve discussed this with the member. The delivery slip was signed and stated all goods were in good condition. Although I cannot fully replace the items, I’d like to resolve this. I can issue a 10 percent refund. Your business is extremely valuable to us, this is an unfortunate situation. I’m confident all of our services were provided at a high level.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to mediate disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
