Columbus kitchen remodel leaves unsatisfied customer
COMPLAINT: Carrie Rosen, Columbus
"I took my duvet and down comforter to Ross Cleaners in Bexley for dry cleaning. They ruined it, and they had the nerve to bag it up in plastic and charge me without mentioning there was a problem.

3 Labs Home Improvement

Didn't respond to Julie Giany's request that they fix or replace her deck, sidewalk, driveway and fence, which she says they damaged. First month in the box.
They didn't even return the braided banding they obviously knew was missing. The fading was obvious because I have matching pillow shams, throw pillows and a bedskirt.
I called the owner, Jong Huhl, and he was no help. He kept making excuses about the fabric being defective. The workmanship of the duvet was very high quality.
This was a very expensive set, and I felt he should replace it. He wanted to send it away for testing, but I refused. I told him he'd be hearing from my lawyer, and he said fine and walked away."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like the entire set replaced or something comparable. They should also return the braided banding and give me a refund for the cleaning."
RESPONSE: Jong Huhl, president, Ross Cleaners - Bexley
"When a homeowner has a complaint, we listen to their problem and then ask for a few days to look in to it. If we aren't sure what happened to the garment in question, we send it out to a company for analysis.
In this case, the homeowner wouldn't let us have it for analysis and demanded money. When I refused to do anything unless she gave us the blanket for analysis, she threatened to call her attorney.
I told her to do whatever she wanted and walked away."
COMPLAINT: Michael Billman, Columbus

COMPLAINT: Julie Bostelman, Powell
"I hired Scott's Lawn Service to apply fertilization and crabgrass prevention on my lawn. I've used them in past years, and this time I called because they hadn't shown up.
The representative said they were backed up two weeks and would flag my account and be out shortly. When they hadn't come more than a month later, I assumed they wouldn't show up at all and put the first application on the yard myself.
They showed up two days later, totally unannounced, and put down an application without checking with me. After that long, I'd expect the company to contact me to make sure I still want them to show up.
I've spoken with a representative several times and, three weeks ago, he promised to talk to his boss and have him call me. I haven't received a call."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want complete credit for the service."
COMPLAINT: Manoj Choudhary, Reynoldsburg
"Two representatives from M&G Duct Cleaning cleaned the dryer vent. The crew arrived more than an hour late. They were courteous but not up to the task.
I requested that they concentrate in certain areas where the lint tends to collect and block air passage. While they were working, I went out to buy an attachment for the dryer and the vent.
When I returned about 20 minutes later, they said they finished the work, but when I turned the dryer on, no air came out of the vent outlet. They agreed to open the duct sections and clean them. They left a lot of mess and broke two brackets.
The next morning, the duct was loose, and I called the company. They promised to take care of the brackets and loose duct but never called."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like them to replace the two support brackets and make sure the dryer duct sections are connected properly."
STATUS: Penalty box
