What types of lighting services do you offer?
Carl Waibel Jr.: We offer full installation of lighting in homes.
Dan Nolan: We offer any lighting installation, but prefer energy efficient options.
J. Keith Speed: We can install any type of residential lighting you may need.
What types of installations do customers request most?
Waibel: People are converting from incandescent bulbs to fluorescent or LED lighting. You can’t hardly find incandescent bulbs anymore.
Nolan: We do a lot of retrofitting to allow for more energy efficient bulbs. That’s what the majority of people are looking for now.
Speed: LED lights are really coming on strong. They produce great light quality, last longer and end up saving the customer money.
What is the cost for a typical lighting project?
Waibel: Installing recess cans can cost between $150 to $200 a piece. It depends on the types of cans you want to have installed.
Nolan: If the customer buys their own fixtures, we can do around 15 ceiling-mounted lights for around $500. We charge on an hourly basis.
Speed: It depends on the degree of difficulty. One hard-to-reach bulb could be about $150 to $200 to install, but it’s worth it long term.
What should customers look for when hiring a company for projects?
Waibel: There are a lot of people in this profession. Look for someone who is established and has a lot of experience.
Nolan: You want someone who is licensed, insured and bonded. That way, if there is an accident, it will be covered.
Speed: The contractor’s track record and reputation is the most important. It will tell you pretty much all you need to know.
