Cleaners lose sweater, leave customer unsatisfied

COMPLAINT: Shayne Goodrum, Durham, N. C.
"I left nine items at $1.97 Cleaners for dry cleaning. I'd used the company before with adequate results. When I picked up my items, they gave me one item that wasn't mine and they were unable to find a sweater.

They asked for two weeks to find it. After three weeks with no luck, I asked them to reimburse me for the sweater. They told me I'd have a check in two weeks.


I went back after three weeks and they had no response to my request for information. They told me they'd be back in touch the next day. Two weeks later, I'd heard nothing from them.

I asked for a number to call the manager or main office, and they said they didn't have the number to give me."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "If the cleaners cannot return my sweater, I would like them to reimburse me for its cost of $45 as they'd indicated they would."

STATUS: Penalty box
