Chicago condo remodel offers sky-high perfection
Member Vikas Wadhwa sought out a high-end remodeling job for a downtown Chicago condo, and turned to Wilmette, Ill., contractor Andris Andersons for the job. Wadhwa particularly liked Andersons’ largely solo approach.
Here’s what Wadhwa had to say about the experience:
I wanted a high-end renovation of my one-bedroom, 800-square-foot condo in downtown Chicago. The $22,000 cost reflects the labor and rough materials, not including cabinets, countertops, tile and fixtures. Andris Andersons helped me get it all together. He’s a great contractor — he can do a lot of different things, give you suggestions, and do it all at an attractive price.
He will often work by himself, so it can take a bit longer to get things finished, but his price was lower than some other contractors who bid on the project. Since this was a second home, timing wasn’t an issue. The whole renovation took between 60 and 90 days since the cabinets were custom-made and shipped from Italy. Andris’ work speaks for itself.
