Chicago auto repair shops keep cars running smoothly
Whether you live in Oak Park, Joliet or downtown Chicago, you need a trusted mechanic to take care of your car.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Chicago auto repair shops as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
J & R Auto Repair, Glen Ellyn, Ill.
Kathleen Schmidt depends on J & R to maintain her 2002 Saturn. “I have 107,000 miles on it and I plan to keep it for another 93,000 miles, and J & R has earned my business as the ones who will help me achieve that goal,” she says. “I’ve taken my car to them for different repairs in the three months since I found them on Angie’s List. The owner stands by his work and keeps investigating until a problem is resolved. I feel like I’ve found a trustworthy business, and that feels good in this day and age.”
AutoKrafters on Rand, Palatine, Ill.
Laura Bensman appreciated AutoKrafter’s affordable and ingenious fix to a dented and scratched car. “The original dealership wanted $3,500 just for the dent,” she says. “AutoKrafters offered to replace and paint the damaged parts for $1,500 less, but they also said they could bump it out for just $100, and still be very close to perfect. They got me scheduled within a week of the quote and did it all in one day, whereas my dealership had said it would take at least five days. They’re now my only choice for bodywork.”
Bee-Zee Body Shop, Skokie, Ill.
Claudia Friedman says Bee-Zee provides the perfect solution to the everyday dangers of city life. “We get our cars bashed into a couple of times a year — thanks, Chicagoans!” she says. “My husband and I have been using Bee-Zee for a decade to repair everything from dings to major crashes. Their quotes are consistently much lower than other garages, and they’re quick! Last time, they repaired a demolished car in three days. These guys are the best hidden treasure in the state!”
Nofsinger’s Auto Repair, Lombard, Ill.
LaDonna Tolefree loved Nofsinger’s prompt service. “I called late on a Friday because my steering wheel was hard to move and a loud noise was coming from under the hood,” she says. “I expected them to make an appointment for the next week, but to my surprises, they asked me to come in on Saturday. They identified the problem, made the phone calls to get the parts on a weekend, and had my car fixed by early afternoon. It was the best experience I’ve ever had with getting my car fixed, I will never go to another place to service my car.”
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
