Huntsman Wildlife Control
Didn’t respond to Robin Leguillow’s request to honor their warranty for animal removal after their partner went out of business.
COMPLAINT: Robin Leguillow, Cary, N.C.
“I hired Huntsman Wildlife Control to get rid of an animal problem in my attic. Christian Simpson arrived promptly, reviewed the situation, identified the problem as flying squirrels and wrote up an estimate for $800.
"I agreed to the work and gave him a $200 deposit. The estimate was on a business form labeled Huntsman Wildlife Control, but the receipt from when the work was performed said Mayday Wildlife Services — which accepted the remaining balance of $600. Both papers state there is a one-year warranty on the service."
"When I asked why [there were two company names], I was told Huntsman and Mayday were partner companies and cover for each other depending on workload.
"About a month later I began hearing something in the attic again. I called Mayday and the number was out of order. I called Huntsman and was told Mayday had closed their business and Huntsman didn’t cover service in the Raleigh area.
"They then gave me the number that they said was for the owner of Mayday. It was a wrong number. I’m out $800, still have animals in the attic and Huntsman will not honor the warranty.”
DESIRED RESOLUTION: “I want my money back or Huntsman to make good on the warranty.”
