Cape Coral homeowner helps design new paver patio
When Angie’s List member Jaime Sookhiram and her husband, Dave, of Cape Coral, Florida, had their screened-in deck enclosed, she knew she wanted something to replace the outdoor space.
She already owned patio furniture and a grill — she just needed somewhere to put them. After also purchasing a fire pit, she decided to hire someone to install a paver patio and walkway in her backyard.
She chose highly rated Master Z Pavers, also in Cape Coral, for the work because they were prepared when forming an estimate and she could see they had an eye for design.
Sookhiram says when it came to design, she and her husband knew exactly what they wanted, and she put her ideas in print for the company to use.
“We measured the length and width to fit what we planned on placing on the patio,” Sookhiram says. “We knew how we wanted it designed and angled in the yard. They were able to draw a quick freehand sketch for us to see, and I drew the furniture in rough scale onto the sketch before we had the job done. We actually had the rear grill pad offset from center a few feet based on the furniture we knew we would be placing on the patio.”
Master Z Pavers had some leftover pavers after finishing the patio, and Sookhiram says they added a ring of pavers around a small avocado tree in her backyard with some extra pavers at no additional charge per her husband’s request.
Sookhiram says her favorite part of the $2,600 project, however, was unintentional. “The color [of the pavers] matched our house perfectly,” she says.
In the future, Sookhiram plans to have a little extra work done, but for now, she is very pleased. “It’s holding up beautifully,” she says. “We plan on putting a sealant on it soon to make the color pop and protect the pavers longer term.”
