Cable service in Indianapolis finally comes through

"I use Comcast for cable TV service. I had no issues with their service until a little more than a year ago, when I found a cable running from their box in my front yard through to my side yard, garden and backyard to another cable box on the street perpendicular to mine. When I called, they had no idea what was going on and sent someone out.

"They confirmed it was their cable and there was a problem with the underground line, but they had no record of the problem. More than a year later, the cable is still there despite numerous calls and a trip to their office. On two occasions when I've called, they've told me the work order for the repair was canceled.

"When I went to the office, they told me there was no manager who could help me, but they could e-mail someone about my problem and they'd call me. The woman who called me said she would look into the situation and call me back. That was more than a month ago, and she never called back.

"In that month, I've called them twice and asked someone to call me. Comcast has the most atrocious customer service I've ever seen. If there were any other cable provider to choose from, I'd be long gone."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want the underground line repaired or replaced so the cable running through my yard can be removed. I also want to be compensated for the use of my property."

RESPONSE: Keri Wilcox, executive support specialist, Comcast

"We attempted to reach the member to address her concerns. We advised her a technician would visit her home and survey the line. The technician determined it was a temporary line and needed to be replaced prior to burial. We provided the customer with an estimated two-week completion time. We've committed to follow up with her and we're working diligently to resolve the customer's concerns in a timely manner."

STATUS: Resolved

Editor's note: Beall informed Angie's List that Comcast repaired the underground cable and removed the temporary line. She considers the matter closed.

Hasn't responded to Jeffrey Black's complaint seeking what he says is needed engine repair work for a vehicle the company sold him.
