COMPLAINT: Dae Kim, Barrington, Ill.
"I decided to buy display cabinets that All-Brite Kitchen & Flooring Design had for sale. They told me they could order matching cabinets for the rest of my kitchen and quoted me a good price, so I ordered them. It turned out to be a huge mistake.
"Initially, in January 2009, they told me the cabinets should take about six to eight weeks. I called them after three months and they said it'd take another two to three weeks. I waited three weeks and called back. This time, they told me it'd take another four to six weeks.
"I finally received my cabinets seven months later. To compensate me for the long wait, they said they'd install the cabinets for free. I waited more than two weeks for them to install the cabinets. They told me the installers were busy and it'd take another two or three weeks.
"I finally found another contractor and All-Brite agreed to repay me for the installation cost. After paying for it out of my own pocket, I asked them for reimbursement. Frank [LaMark, the president] told me his policy was to pay invoices 30 days after receiving them.So I waited again for 30 days.
"When I called Frank again, he told me he had no funds, but he should be able to pay me in one week. I waited another week and he gave me the same story again."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want $1,300 for the installation cost as soon as possible."
Editor's note: Kim informs Angie's List that the company refunded his installation fee and he considers the matter closed.
