Bugs allegedly return after Atlanta pest control service leaves

COMPLAINT: Mary Peters, McDonough, Ga.

"I had Clark Pest Remedy come out for a one-time pest control visit. The serviceman was prompt and polite, but the problem I had was that even though it was a one-time visit, less than five days later I saw the bugs I was trying to get rid of in the same place as they were before.

"When I called and talked to the company, they said since I didn't have a service contract, there was nothing they could do. I understand that I didn't have a contract, but it was less than a week later when I saw the bugs again.

"I explained this to the company representative and she said she would ask her supervisor to call us the next day. I never heard from them."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to return my money or respray my house."

RESPONSE: Garey Clark, president, Clark Pest Remedy

"We offered the member a quarterly service and told her a one-time service would not be effective or warrantied. She said she had a one-time visit before and that's what she wanted.

"No one can eliminate a roach problem with one treatment. The supervisor and secretary both say they left a message with the member. I still went back out and re-treated the area at no charge."

Atlanta roofing company allegedly unresponsive, issues refund

Condo owner claims contractor never showed up to address a leak and that he had to hire someone else to complete the job.

COMPLAINT: BJ Purcell, Norcross, Ga.

"I hired Just Repair Roofing to handle several leaks for my condo community. They've been paid for all repairs, which included a 120-day warranty. One townhouse chimney continues to leak.

"I called Just Repair within five days of the repair to let them know the roof still leaked. We set two different appointments to repair the leak, but they didn't show.

"The company isn't returning phone messages. Because of all the rain we've had since they were here, I had to hire someone else to repair the job."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like a full refund."

STATUS: Resolved

Editor's note: Purcell informed Angie's List he received the requested refund.
