Broker's patience pleases picky property buyer

InfoSanDiego | San Diego

Kyung Bhattacharjee admits to being a picky buyer, and says owner Jim Prechtl was patient and accommodating through the process. "We visited close to 200 properties all over the San Diego area, and Jim was always optimistic and tried his best to find better properties," Bhattacharjee says. "More importantly, he's not just a broker, but a person you can rely on and trust."

Are you kidding! The average home sells for $150K and the commission, after E&O and Fees, is is about $4,000. If you assume $10 for gas, oil, depreciation and insurance per preview; thats $2,000 alone. If you figure 1 hour per preview that's 200 hours which means the agent made $10 / hour. I guess that's not too bad, unless you consider that the agent could have served 25 to 30 other clients and made at least 25 to 30 times more income otherwise. Save me the "greedy" comments; this just doesn't make any sense for anyone but a fool!
