Boston contractor and homeowner resolve estimate confusion

Boston contractor and homeowner resolve estimate confusion

COMPLAINT: Louise Baxter, Boston

"I was doing some deck repair and called Neponset Valley Construction, because they had done work for me previously. I agreed to their estimate and sent in a check for the deposit. They said the estimate was good for 30 days.

"Initially, they said the person I needed to speak with was sick and they would call me back.

"Another employee showed up unannounced to see what work needed to be done, and he began listing different things that were not on the estimate.

"I asked him to look at the estimate, and he said he would call back. I have been calling with no response. I just want them to come out and do the work that was on the estimate."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "Please complete the job."

RESPONSE: Brian Kearney, owner, Neponset Valley Construction

"We acknowledge a delay in contacting this customer. We did have several employees out sick for a couple of weeks which affected our scheduling.

"I contacted the customer myself, and the work has been scheduled to be done. Customer satisfaction is our priority and we will take care of this immediately."

STATUS: Resolved
