The best way to remodel in Boston
Knowing the best way to remodel is crucial to adding maximum value to your Boston area home. Jeff Veglia of Jeff Veglia Remodeling & Tile Contracting gives his advice on which way to remodel.
What remodels off the best return?
Veglia: "The projects that offer the best return usually fit into three categories. First is always adding livable square footage to your home if done in a cost conscious way. This can be accomplished by finishing a basement , second story additions, and small additions. These projects can be great value builders to a home. Second, are the ones that everyone loves to do which is to remodel the kitchen.
"Kitchens, once remodeled can change the whole feeling and presentation of the interior of a home.
"The third area of value projects are small simple ones that surprisingly can make a dull home feel new and inviting. Projects that fall into this category are things such as replacing the old plain or run down front door with a beautiful and welcoming new fiberglass or wood door with side lights or stunning handle and its amazing how much less cold air comes through a new door in the winter. Other items are a fresh coat of paint in the living room or some new lighting both on the interior and exterior of the home. These types of protects are often forgotten but they can really dress a home up."
