Best Denver Contractors of 2010
Pappas Painting & Repair | Lakewood, Colo.
Angie's List member Kerry Jergensen of Littleton says Pappas Painting & Repair went out of the way to do the job right. "They genuinely care and want to make your house look great," Jergensen says.
Owner Frank Pappas says customer satisfaction — even pleasing the kids and the pets of the home — is of the utmost importance.
"I won't let people pay until they're 100 percent happy," says the three-time Super Service Award winner. The company, which was nominated 11 times last year for the Pages of Happiness, gives back to the community by donating their services to help raise money for nonprofit organizations.
Pappas, who isn't required to have a trade license, says he often uses environmentally friendly paints.
Don's Garage Doors Inc. | Littleton, Colo.
Don Szynskie, owner of Don's Garage Doors Inc., says he treats every garage door as if it's his own.
"No one likes to be stuck in the garage," says Szynskie, who's not required to be licensed. "We'll work fast to solve the problem."
Angie's List member John Blanyer was impressed by the company's respect for the customer.
"Courtesy and reliability is something money can't buy," Blanyer says. "This means a lot to us aging codgers."
Member Ron Reed of Lone Tree says Szynskie's honesty is top-notch.
"I had expected him to recommend a door replacement, but instead he said I could change the spring and it would be good for several more years," Reed says.
Szynskie, who supports a local Boy Scout troop, recycles nearly all materials from garage door replacements.
