Baltimore lawn service unresponsive to dead shrubs
COMPLAINT: Stephen Lee, Odenton, Md.
"I hired Couch Cut Lawn Service to remove shrubs and weeds and replace them with flowers, new shrubs and mulch. [Since then] all of the boxwood shrubs have died. I called them and they said they would come and look at the shrubs.
"They even offered to take one of the shrubs back to the nursery to see if something was wrong with it. That was weeks ago. I have yet to hear back from them. I've called and left messages, but they haven't returned my calls."

COMPLAINT: Peter Davis, Edgewater, Md.
"I hired Ballard Enterprises LLC to remove two large decaying trees and one white pine. However, portions of the tree that were supposed to be removed weren't and the stump wasn't ground up until weeks later.
"Instead, Tim [Ballard, the owner] quoted the fine print of the contract saying 'payment is consideration that work has been completed in a satisfactory manner.' In other words, I got penalized for paying the day the service was completed."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to remove the large logs and grind the white pine stump per our contractual agreement."
Editor's note: The member says the items on the contract were completed.
