Baltimore appliance repair company diagnosed problem, but didn’t return to fix it, member says

Member complaint

I hired All-Star Appliance Repair of Baltimore to repair my leaking washing machine. They took it apart to diagnose it and charged a $65 fee. They quoted $189 minus the $65 fee for repairs but didn’t return to fix the machine.

I asked for a receipt but the technician said one would be provided when the job was complete. I was immediately suspicious, so I took off work to be home during the appointment. When they didn’t show up, I called and left a message and wrote a message on their Facebook page.

I finally got a call from the tech who said they were late due to traffic, but they were on their way. He never showed up. I want a $65 refund.

Have a complaint?

Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to mediate disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
