Avon contractor helps turn kitchen disaster into a dream remodel
Do you see your cup as half empty or half full? When Indianapolis member Angie Mackey came home to a flooded kitchen after a main pipe burst, she felt tempted to panic. Instead, she saw it as the perfect opportunity to plan the remodel she’d always wanted. It’s all about perspective, she says.
With all the changes she wanted, she anticipated a long project, but highly rated Archibuilt of Avon promised a two-week turnaround date and they delivered. “I thought it would turn into the money pit,” Mackey says, adding that she’s heard horror stories with contractors before.
Archibuilt’s work included demolition, trash removal and tearing out and hauling away the damaged floor. The job also required extensive electrical upgrades to handle the power for the can lights, pendant lights, and under-cabinet lighting, as well as the placement of the new appliances and outlets on the walls and side of island.

With two young children in her home, Mackey needed a functioning kitchen and felt thrilled that Archibuilt understood this as well. “Once work began it was very clear that these guys meant business, and they had every intention of finishing up all the work, no matter what came up,” she says.
She also loved the fact that they used lead-safe practices since her kitchen was built prior to 1978. After basically replacing the entire kitchen, plumbing and expanding the space, the finished product blew her away. “Their efficiency was priceless,” she says. “They were worth every penny we paid, and then some.”
