Austin contractor makes good on promise to fix broken gate operator
I hired Austin Gate Operators of Austin, Texas, to install a driveway gate operator. It has not worked correctly from the beginning. The operator would work for a few days, then would stop working again. The company came to fix it three times, but has stopped responding to my requests. The operator came with a two-year warranty. I want the company to fix the gate operator, issue a full refund of $2,685 or leave the equipment in place and reimburse me half the purchase price.

We attempted to repair the unit, including but not limited to replacing main components such as control boards, batteries and actuator arms. Unfortunately, the unit continued to fail, as did discussions with the manufacturer regarding the return of the unit. We sincerely apologize for the lack of resolve regarding the ongoing issues with the member and will correct the situation involving the products we installed.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
