Austin-area car owners toot their horns for these repair shops

Whether you live in Lost Creek, Jollyville or downtown Austin, you need a local mechanic you can trust with your car.

Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Austin auto repair shops as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.

Barbi Rushing’s daughter is on the road again, thanks to Quick Align of San Marcos.  “My daughter’s car broke down on her way home one night,” she says. “Owner Eric Evans suggested an effective way to get the car started to get it back to San Marcos. He got it fixed the next day in time for her to get to work on time. He even offered to let her use his car if she needed to. He is an amazing, honest business owner. I drive 70 miles to have him work on my cars because I know I can trust him.”

Dave’s Ultimate Automotive kicked the customer service into high gear for Jaimiee Bayliss. “They replaced my air filter, brake pads, rotors and fixed my motor mounts,” she says. “The work was done over the course of three days. It could have been done in one day, but with my unusual work schedule I had to break it into separate days. I dropped off my car in the morning and they took me to and from work every day. They were very pleasant to deal with. I will definitely use them for all future car needs.”

Foundation Auto Repair tuned into Curtis Canak’s vehicle needs. “They replaced the transfer case encoder motor and the instrument cluster on my car,” he says. “They quickly diagnosed my problem and let me know how much it would cost. It took four days to get parts, conduct the repairs and test-drive the vehicle. They communicated with me every step of the way. There were no add-ons or up-charges. Prior to finding Foundation Auto, I took my vehicle to the dealership, but I won’t anymore.”

Melissa Jones’ ride looks like new, thanks to Texas Shine Auto Detailing. “I have never seen such a detail in detailing and the sheer perfection was the result,” she says. “They detailed my 2006 Mercury van and my 2007 Chevy Uplander. They carefully removed every tiny speck of road debris and left nothing but a smooth, protected shine from bumper to bumper! Don’t even think about having anyone but Texas Shine detail your vehicle. Having a pair of showroom-perfect vehicles is simply superb!”

About Posts of Happiness

At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.

We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.

After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
