COMPLAINT: Lane Stone, Alexandria, Va.
“I hired Housworth Roofing & Construction Inc. to fix a leak in the roof of my Georgia home.
"I was told my chimney cap was too small and they replaced it with a larger one. However, the leak has gotten worse. The salesperson has been back out twice but his efforts haven’t worked.
"The water stain now runs the length of the cathedral ceiling, down the wall and behind the window and wooden blinds. I called them and they wanted to wait until the next week to come out.
"In the meantime, wood is rotting — it’s been raining since I called them. The leak starts exactly next to the chimney. They said my seven-year-old roof is in bad shape.”
DESIRED RESOLUTION: “I want them to fix the interior damage — including drywall, checking for mold and painting — in addition to a $425 refund for the chimney cap.”
