Drip, drip, done?
COMPLAINT: Charlene Williams, Tucker, Ga.
"I hired Atlanta Maintenance Management Services to complete a list of five things. They fixed three of the five successfully. One problem not fixed was a leaking faucet. It's a rental property and I'd like to have the place ready as I've planned to have a few people look at the house. I've called them at least five or six times leaving messages each time and have heard nothing. I'm disappointed with the result."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to fix the faucet."
RESPONSE: Butch Meyer, owner, Atlanta Maintenance Management Services
"We contracted to repair a leak coming from the bath and found three of the tub's stem packings were leaking. A drippy faucet wasn't discussed by the member. Once the repairs were completed, she inspected each item on the list rigorously. A minor conflict over a beam that had been caulked occurred, which was done as originally agreed upon.
"In the interest of keeping the client happy, we negotiated a price discount for the beam, to which she readily agreed. She found everything to her satisfaction. A week later she called accusing us of doing something to her heater, as it wasn't working. We hadn't contracted to make any repairs to the heating system nor had we touched it. She made no mention of a dripping faucet during this call. We believe she's looking for additional work being done at no charge."
Editor's Note: Williams says Atlanta Maintenance Management Services refunded her $100 for the faucet repair.
