Atlanta chiropractors provide relief for back pain, muscle aches
Get adjusted in your chair as three highly rated Atlanta-area chiropractors offer advice on chronic back pain and spinal manipulation.
Who can benefit from seeing a chiropractor?
Craig Senft: People who suffer from neck, knee, jaw, ankle, shoulder, and mid- and lower-back pain; headaches; numbness and tingling in arms, hands, legs and toes; degenerative joints; and general fatigue.
Vicky Yarns: Just about anyone. We help the body function at its optimum. While we all have varying limitations, an adjustment is made to reduce the stress not only on the musculoskeletal system, but also on the nervous system.
Joe Esposito: Everyone should get their spine checked, just like they get their teeth or eyes checked. The nervous system controls everything and if it’s damaged it can cause many other health issues.
What type of chiropractic work do you perform?
Senft: I perform the traditional, gentle manipulative therapy. I provide additional therapies such as electrical and mechanical muscle stimulation and heat therapy. I also cover at-home exercises and the importance of proper posture.
Yarns: I perform several different techniques, depending on the patient and what causes their symptoms. I do soft tissue work and adjustments, and create exercises and stretches for the patient to do at home. If patients are given the tools to help themselves on a daily basis, they have better control of how they feel.
Esposito: I’m board-certified in chiropractic, orthopedics, and double board-certified in nutrition. I use a gentle technique that allows the body to return to its normal position and function, and muscle balancing techniques. I also focus heavily on each patient’s nutrition and digestive system.
What does a visit cost, and is it covered by insurance?
Senft: I’m an in-network provider for most insurance. A new patient special for cash patients costs $50, while following treatments are $45.
Yarns: Most insurance companies cover chiropractic and we are in-network with the majority of them. An initial visit costs approximately $125 to $165.
Esposito: The initial consultation is free. Cost varies and is determined by how much treatment a patient needs. We do accept insurance.
How long does a typical treatment take?
Senft: Each treatment takes about 25 minutes.
Yarns: The initial exam usually takes about one hour and a typical appointment takes 15 to 30 minutes.
Esposito: The initial visit is usually about 45 minutes long, and a typical follow-up visit is usually 10 to 20 minutes.
