DW Campbell Inc. [8445 Roswell Road]
COMPLAINT: Mervelyn Jackson, Hephzibah, Ga.
"I hired Progressive Properties to manage my rental property, which included finding a tenant, taking care of all repairs and general upkeep of the property, collecting the rental income and depositing that income less expenses into my bank account. It didn't go well at all.
"My rental income wasn't deposited to my account in a timely manner. They double-billed me for two repairs. They wouldn't return my calls or e-mails. Finally, I went to see my tenants, because they were the only ones who could tell me what was going on with all the repairs Progressive said they had done.
"I was then told by Progressive that talking to the tenants violated our contract. I haven't been able to get a statement of income and expenses for my property for tax purposes. They also have not provided me with an itemized statement of expenses, and they haven't returned the deposit given to them by my tenants.
"When I complained to the BBB, Progressive said in their response that they intend to keep the deposit even though they are no longer managing my property."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want Progressive Properties to give me the rent that is owed to me, including the money they took for double-billing, less the $320 that remained on the contract when I ceased doing business with them.
"I want the $500 deposit that belongs to my tenants. I would also like a copy of all work invoiced, along with income and expenses that pertain to my property."
