Atlanta-area homeowner receives refund from Loganville plumber
I hired Allgood Plumbing & Electric of Loganville, Ga., to find and fix a leak in my shower. A plumber looked at the situation. He determined it was a bad seal in the shower. We had him re-caulk the drain, and I paid him $198. The next day, it started leaking again. He came back out and cut the drywall to see where the leak was. He determined that the drain pipes were not the cause. He re-caulked the siding, and it started leaking again the next day. We determined it wasn’t the shower pan causing the leak, but something else. Now he wants to take out the shower pan, which will be extremely expensive. I talked to his supervisor, and he took zero responsibility. He said they do plumbing, but don’t do caulking. I have a leak, a hole in my ceiling, and I paid this guy $198 for absolutely nothing. I want the company to provide a full refund or fix the leak.

We provided this homeowner with options. The plumber initially did not want to cut the drywall to positively identify the source of the leak. We are very good at what we do, however, we cannot see inside walls. We did exactly what he decided to have us do.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
