COMPLAINT: Patricia Giralt, Akron, Ohio
"I had a problem with an ice dam on my slate roof that leaked through my ceiling and walls. I called Paulin Slate & Copper Co., because I saw their website and found out that Chris Paulin, the owner, is an officer of the Slate Roofing Contractors' Association. I thought he must be a reputable person.
"Over the phone, he said he charges $150 to look at the roof, and to give an evaluation of the roof's condition and how much it will cost to repair it.
"I paid him $150 but never got a report, so I e-mailed him to follow up. He responded, saying he was busy and that he would work on it that weekend. He has not responded but he cashed my check."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like Chris Paulin to return my $150."
