Air testing upsell results in refund
COMPLAINT: Russell Francis, Beaverton, Ore.
"I just purchased a new home and was anxious to have the ductwork sealed and the crawl space insulated. I called Home Visions West of Hillsboro, which offered to test the air in my home for $246. A certified specialist came out with a technician to do the testing, which took about two hours. They were very nice and got me excited about the services the company could offer. I paid them, and they gave me a receipt with a promise to give me an estimate to repair the ductwork, insulation and possibly new windows. A week later, they called and said the bid would be delayed for a few days. No one ever returned my call. I asked for a refund, but they continue to ignore me."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $246 refund."
Editor's note: Francis says he's received a full refund from Home Visions West.
