$45,000 kitchen remodel well worth the cost, homeowner says
North Reading, Massachusetts, Angie’s List member Susan Holsing says the kitchen in her 30-year-old house, which was set up by the original builder, needed major adjustments, and the flooring and appliances needed replaced.
She chose highly rated OUR HOUSE design+build of Reading based on their good reviews and all-inclusive nature. The company gutted and remodeled Holsing’s kitchen, making her house the home of her dreams. “They were able to provide all of the services from design to completion,” Holsing says. “One person coordinated all, so I didn’t have to work with multiple individuals.”
Holsing especially appreciated the crew’s cleanliness. “Each night during the demolition phase, the work area was swept and cleared of all debris,” she says. Holsing loves the design and says it creatively makes use of limited space.
As common with remodels, there were unexpected issues, such as rodent damage and worn-out plumbing, but Holsing says each issue was quickly communicated to her with options for correction. She admits she had sticker shock when she saw the estimate, but believes the $45,000 she paid was well worth it in the long run for the peace of mind throughout the process.
Her friends and family saw the room during and after construction. “They were amazed at the cleanliness of the job site and the workmanship that was behind the walls,” she says. “The subcontractors were excellent tradesmen.”
Holsing was amazed, too. She says she would use them again and isn’t afraid to recommend them to friends. “I am so very happy with my new kitchen,” she says. “I wish I had done it sooner.”
