Have seen automatic mosquito systems installed in our neighborhood only to be dismantled after a few years. Here is what we do: For standing water that cannot be avoided ("catch basins" diverting rain w. soil from running into pool) we add mosquito dunks (see picture at Amazon). Better yet is spreading Yardsafe Insect Repellent Granules from Green Light in our grass. It works and is safe around kids & pets. Both products from our organic nursery.

I invested in a mosquito delete, the kind that use propane and it does its job.

I get a lot of lady bugs and dragonflys ordered every year and let go in my yard. with standing water the dragonflys will stay around and eat the larva and lady bugs are great to get the adults along with other pets in the yard and garden.
