Contractors willing to cut some costs on home improvement projects

Good news for homeowners planning a home improvement project this year.  Contractors around the country tell Angie’s List they’re willing to negotiate prices to win jobs from homeowners planning to repair or improve their existing homes. No one wants to spend more than they have to, but when it comes to home improvement, there’s more to consider than dollars. Never hire on price alone. Do your research to make sure you are getting quality work at a good price.

Hi Lilly,Members can sign in to search the List, there's a link in the upper right hand corner, or they can call us at 1-888-888-LIST. If you're not yet a member, we can help sign you up then help you search. Thanks!

I called on of you recommended home improvement company, left a message never heard back. Dissapointed to say the list, that was the reason for my registration. Now I am stuck.

Etty, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience - have you tried calling more than one company? It's always a good idea to get multiple estimates. And, if you have any issues with contractors, another benefit to being a member of Angie's List is our Complaint Resolution Team, which goes to bat for members to help settle disputes.

Why is it some reviews say that the contractors you list do not have licenses? I thought Angie's list didn't list un -licensed contractors?!

When a company is added to Angie's List, we inquire whether the company states that they are licensed, bonded and/or insured. However, since this information is self-reported by the service provider, we strongly encourage you to ask each of the providers for their up-to-date information and verify that information by viewing their certificates.
