“Gift Memberships” are pre-paid memberships to the Angie’s List service, active upon purchase, which can be registered in the name of the Recipient at www.angieslist.com/gift or by phone at 1-888-944-5478. Gift Memberships and their use are subject to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") as well as the Angie's List Membership Agreement. Each Recipient shall be required to become a party to the Angie's List Membership Agreement upon registration of his or her Gift Membership. A person who purchases a Gift Membership is referred to in these Terms as the “Purchaser.” A person who receives and registers a Gift Membership is referred to in these Terms as the "Recipient." Angie’s List reserves the right to alter these Terms at any time, without notice to the Purchaser or Recipient.

Purchasing a Gift Membership

To be eligible to purchase an Angie’s List Gift Membership, the Purchaser must have a current membership to the Angie’s List service that is in good standing.

The entire purchase price for the Gift Membership ("Purchase Price") shall be due and payable at the time of purchase. Payment of the Purchase Price may be made by any method of payment accepted by Angie's List at the time of purchase. By purchasing a Gift Membership, the Purchaser authorizes Angie’s List to charge the Purchase Price to the payment method provided.

Gift Memberships may only be purchased for a single service area as defined by Angie's List at the time of purchase (each such service area, a “Chapter”). The Chapter to which a Gift Membership will apply must be chosen by the Purchaser at the time of purchase. Access to additional Chapters may be purchased by the Recipient after the Gift Membership has been registered.

The purchase of a Gift Membership will result in the generation of a unique code (“Access Code”) that will allow Recipient to register as a member of and access the Angie's List service for the designated Chapter. The Purchaser may: a) provide the Access Code to the Recipient directly; b) send the Gift Membership (including Access Code) via email through the Angie’s List website; or c) print the Gift Membership (including Access Code) via the Angie’s List website.

Angie’s List is not responsible and assumes no liability for non-delivery of a Gift Membership email due to an invalid email address, spam filters, or any other reason. The Purchaser is solely responsible for ensuring the Access Code is received by the Recipient.

The Purchaser is not entitled to a refund or credit for Gift Memberships that are not registered. The Purchaser may not transfer a single Gift Membership to more than one Recipient. Angie’s List is not responsible if the Access Code is lost, stolen, or used without permission.

Using a Gift Membership

Recipients may begin to use their valid Gift Memberships at any time by using the Access Code. Once entered, the Access Code will be void and cannot be used again. Recipients must confirm their valid contact information, including, but not limited to, an email address and home address, in order to access the Angie's List service using their Gift Memberships.

Gift Memberships are activated and available for use on the date of purchase and shall expire on the last day of the term for which the Gift Membership was purchased, subject to renewal as provided in the Angie's List Membership Agreement. Gift Memberships purchased between November 1 and December 30 may be extended, at Angie’s List’s sole discretion, to instead expire on December 31 of the year that the purchased term ends.

For a Recipient who has an existing Angie’s List membership, the Gift Membership term will start when his or her existing membership term ends and shall expire on the last day of the term for which the Gift Membership was purchased. If the Chapter of the Gift Membership does not match the Chapter of Recipient’s existing membership, Recipient can contact Angie’s List and request to either: a) apply the Gift Membership to the Chapter of his or her existing membership; or b) transfer his or her existing membership to the Chapter of the Gift Membership.

Recipient may cancel his or her Gift Membership at any time following registration. Cancellation instructions can be found on the “FAQ” page of the Angie’s List website. There is no refund or credit for partially used periods. Gift Memberships may not be redeemed or refunded for cash, or combined with any other promotional offers or incentives.
