3. Soothe with Baking Soda
Description
Plain old baking soda may work well when other remedies are in short supply. Soak cotton balls or a clean cloth in a bowl filled with a mixture of cool water and about 4 tablespoons of baking soda. The cotton balls or cloth can then be applied directly to the skin.
The damp application can be reapplied a few times before discarding them in favor of a new batch. As with other remedies, baking soda seems to ease sun-damaged skin and make it sting a little less.
