" from the office contacted me shortly after I signed up for the discounted offering on Angie's List, and the" service was scheduled for the next day. The technician ( ) showed up promptly at the agreed time. As I mentioned, the service was a discounted offering, but spent a lot more time than I had expected covering each area of the exterior and the full basement. He also was very good about explaining everything he was doing and what we could expect. (For example, he explained that spiders are very difficult to control, so we can expect that some of them will be back even after the treatment.) We had recently moved into the house, so I requested a quote for termite control. provided the quote, along with a detailed explanation of what would be done and what would be covered. followed up with a phone call two days later to make sure we were satisfied with the service. During the entire process, I was impressed with the professionalism exhibited by both and , and I would recommend them without reservation to anyone interested in termite, mosquito or general pest control.

"It went extremely well. They've helped us with acute pest problems as well as general maintenance. We want to give a specific shout out to Crystal who is" great at communicating through email and phone about services and who did the service for us and was super friendly and cordial. Our 2 year old fell in love with him (kept asking for "more " after he left) and was really awesome. We look forward to continuing to work with !

Angie's Answers

You have a lot of questions. I will try to cover them all.

First, mice can fit through a hole the size of a dime.
Second, unlike rats, mice are very small; it would take a major infestation to generate a persistent odor as indicated.

Elimination starts by sealing the exterior foundation of the home, door sweeps, broken windows, cracks in the foundation, holes around electrical service, water faucets and dryer vents.

Secondly, food sources must be eliminated. Mice only need 1 gram of food a day and they extract water directly from the food they digest.

Next, mice infestations are more localized than people think, bait under the house might not have any effect. Heat sources like refrigerators and hot water heaters are suspect as a base of operation.

Snap traps are highly effective when used where dropping are found. Use a variety of bait, peanut butter (avoid this if children are present), brownie, fruit and even dental floss tied to the pedal (nesting material).

As for the odor, look for an enzyme based cleaner / deodorizer.

If the problem continues seek the help of a Pest Control Professional with rodent experience.

Hope that helps,

Andrew Deluca

The quickest way I've found to get rid of them (as opposed to preventing them - see answer above) is to put a half cup of cider vinegar (must be cider vinegar) in a jar or bowl and put a half-dozen drops of dishwashing liquid on top of it.  Leave out on a counter wherever the problem exists. Empty and refill as needed.
Legally, it needs to be pest control - wildly boring technical explanation regarding Federal pesticide laws that I won't bother you with.  Having said that, depending on where they are located in your chimnet, you could do it yourselt.  Most wasp control products will shoot 12'-20'.  So, if they are in a lower section of your chimney you wait until dark (they return to their nests before dark) and reach up above your damper and spray the nests.  If you're not averse to being on your roof, do the same thing from the top.  Otherwise, hire a professional.
An exterminator - you have to careful that the pests are driven out of the attic BEFORE the entrance they were using is closed up, otherwise you have dead decaying animals in your attic - can cause a stench that lasts for weeks.

They were a no-call, no-show. Purchase service through Angie's List Deals on 8/24/2015. Spoke to on 8/25/2015 to schedule service for 9/4/2015. Informed of technician's name and given a window of 8am - 10am for service. At 10:01am on Sept. 4th, I called Bulwark to find out where the technician was. After holding for ...More 20min I was finally informed there was a scheduling error because it was booked in August -- it was booked last week, but yes, in August -- and that no one was avail able or in the area. Cancelled the request for service & requested refund because: 1. Bulwark is not reliable and cannot be trusted to show up or properly schedule technicians 2. They do not communicate with clients if they are unable to service a particular area/ location Never again. Too much time wasted!

Great. had active termites and they had to drill hole in the concert and put their solution in. Pull back the pines needles to put the solution in the soil around the house. They swept out the garage and put their solution there and answered all of my questions

I found a huge paper wasp nest built under a bistro chair on my small upstairs deck. I was terrified because I'm allergic to bees and wasps. I called one company on Angies list they said it would be 2 weeks before I could get an estimate. I called PestX explained my situation to , and she sent the district manager, ...More , out that afternoon. He had to put on a bee suit. He went on the small upstairs porch and started applying foam to the horrifying nest as the hornets began to swarm and attack him. But he swatted them off and continued to extinguish these monsters. He indicated there were between 500-750 of the Hornets. I had read that they can sting repeatedly and that 5 can a person. There were many larva as well, they looked similar to large maggots! They were swarming around for a while, then a tremendous downpour of rain began. After he eliminated the hornets, he knocked down wasp nest, hit a couple of carpenter bees and sprayed around the house. The cost for hornets was $150, and spraying exterior was $129. I would have taken the interior treatment that was included in price, but I had my pets in the house and was not prepared. Anyway, they saved the day, and maybe more. These hornets can people and pets if threatened. I agree with saving the environment, but in this case, people and animals come first. I only noticed the nest when I saw a white coating on the seat of chair, I consider myself lucky that I didn't step out to inspect what I thought was mold. Thanks for your prompt attention. I will post pics at a later date.

I contacted based on their Angie's list review. The office representative ( ) was pleasant and prompt over the phone scheduling my appointment. When the technician (J ) arrived on the appointed date and time and was courteous, explained what he would do to resolve the ant issue. ...More I noticed on all the forms he had with him there were notations "*ANGIE'S LIST CUSTOMER." I immediately wondered, "What would my service experience be if I had not stated 'I found you on Angie's List.'" Based on termite inspections from previous companies, I don't believe he performed an actual "termite inspection" (he looked around the crawl space of the house without venturing to all areas of the basement/crawl space). When he entered the house to perform the ant treatment, he (the technician) struck a conversation with the female tenant that seemed a bit more flirty and inquisitive about her work, personal interests, etc. than I would have expected and really lost my confidence in professionalism. The tenant was noticeable put off by the technician and later confided that she felt uncomfortable as a result. After the service was performed, I contacted and asked about the report that stated no termites were found. I need this for my property maintenance records. When I spoke with the representative ( ), I was advised that a "wood destroying insect report" was extra and would require an additional $75.00. I was very put off by this "after-the-fact" charge and voiced my displeasure when I stated on the front end exactly what I wanted when I scheduled the initial appointment. I cancelled my monthly auto charge and notified the company that their services were no longer needed. Within a day, I got a voicemail from the office manager stating they did not want to me as a customer and offered to waive the $75.00 wood destroying termite inspection fee. At that point, the first impression had been set and I was already done with the company. Ironically, one week later, I received a letter from the company asking me to fill out a pre-filled Angie's List review in exchange for a Starbucks gift card. Perhaps if the technician had focused less on the tenant and more on the service requested, it would have been a better experience. Ironically, I received a letter from the company within ten days asking me to complete a paper-based Angie's List review in exchange for a Starbucks gift card. This put me off even more because it underscores the focus on their Angie's List rating and less on their core service and business. However, kudos to (representative) for being the utmost professional and best part of the overall experience.

The folks at were top notch. Very professional, prompt, and did not quit till the job was done. Will hire again for all pest control needs in a heartbeat.

so I made an appointment with bulwark over the phone, and they never showed up. I then called them and they could not tell me why no one showed up and said let me give you a call back. Two hours later never got a call back so i called them again. This time they transferred me to another office and i sat of the phone with him for 30 min and he could ...More still not figure out why they did not have me on a route even though i was scheduled. I made another appointment because i had already paid for the service. then the day before my appointment they called me and ask if they could come 2 hours earlier. I said i really could not have them come early, and they said okay. The next day he came an hour early even after the conversation on the phone, disrupting an important teleconference with a client. He made the excuse that the office booked him in my appointment time 45 minutes away. The rest of the treatment went okay it seemed like he was in a bit of a hurry, but he still did a good job, and was very nice. I told them i would see how well there treatment did before continuing with them. overall the technician himself was a good guy and I don't have a problem with him. I have a problem with the company itself and how they treated me as a customer.
- matthew S.

Treatment lasts for a month or so. A bit pricey. May or may not use again because of price. The guy that came out was very professional and did a good job.
- Richard G.

Two technicians came and listened to our issues and explained to us what was going on. They were very professional and sprayed the inside and outside and dusted the outside for cobwebs. Seem to do a good job. Time will tell and I will update at a future time. They did present and sell us a yearly treatment plan that is paid monthly but can be cancelled ...More at anytime. We did sign up for it-so we shall see.
