because my girls liked him because he knew some of their teachers at West
. He is Very personal and I paid him in advance and received about a 5% discount. That was a mistake. ...more The carpet to be installed I was told by my daughter was the lighter colored carpet sample. She told me of the debate she had with
where he was pushing the carpet that was installed. Unfortunately, I was out of that discussion and I was the person at the house when the carpet was installed. Not knowing the carpet being laid was not the correct carpet, the job was completed.
met with my daughter and my ex later and said it was a misunderstanding that he thought they had agreed to the carpet he was pushing. One thing I do know happened, was with his installers. The lead guy said when he arrived that instead of a 2 day installation that he wanted to do it all that day and could they stay until 6 - 7 pm. I told him NO! He needed to be out of the house by 5 - 5:30 because my daughter had a concert that evening at 7pm and the 3 ladies needed to get ready to go to it. Imagine my surprise when I called at 6:15pm and he was still in the house finishing up. I spoke with him and he seemed offended that I was upset with him for not adhering to the 5pm deadline. The daughter performing had gotten ready and left, but my other daughter and my ex were still in the house. Three women having to shower, etc. with strange men in the house is NOT what I wanted. It was ALL about
's crew finishing up so they could move to another job the next day. In the end, they had to come back a couple of times and finish up anyway... NOT a good experience!"

was recommended to me by a neighbor. Once I contacted
, he came to my home and worked directly with me to determine my interests and to help make my ideas become reality.
and team have replaced my kitchen countertops with new quartz countertops, installed tile backsplash in the ...more kitchen and around my fireplace, and installed hardwood floors in my living and dining areas.
was very accommodating and always responsive to any questions I had. The work was completed in a timely manner and the quality of the work was impeccable. He was very professional throughout the process and upfront with the costs and time frame for completion. I was extremely pleased with the entire experience. I have recommended
to friends and will continue to do so in the future. "
was recommended to me by a friend. Subsequently, I have recommended
and his team to anyone interested in this type of work. He was extremely accomodating, professional and fair throughout the job. The quality of the work is outstanding and everyone who sees it comments on how attractive it is. Based ...more on the quality of work at my house, 5 of my neighbors hired
for remodeling work and all have been very satisfied with their results! "
scheduled the initial appointment and arrived on time. He measured the rooms and was able to contact me and give me his quote over the phone. (I would have preferred a written copy of the quote but he reported he did not have the technology to provide this). Upon agreement of the work to be done, they arrived to do the work ...more and completed the work within the time frame initially agreed upon. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves when the job was done. He communicated to me via phone as the work progressed. I paid half of the sum after the floors were installed and the final payment after the work is completed. I am VERY HAPPY with the floors, both old and new. They are beautiful and now the floors are level where possible. In the areas needing transitions, he worked very hard to make it as slight as possible, given that this was an old house with some settling, The transitions were great. I would strongly recommend
. We were able to pick from a large offering of styles and materials. I've done tiling in the past but putting translucent glass on a wall was something I wanted an expert to do. The subcontractor came on time and finished in one day. The work was done very well and the finished ...more product looks great.
As part of the same job we bought Marmoleum flooring, a brand of linoleum. We picked the color and style at
with the help of the owner. His subs came in a did a fine job of prepping the old pine floor, putting down a plywood substrate and leveling the surface. They also did well at laying the Marmoleum. What we are not truly happy with is the very visible seam where the two sheets of flooring are joined.
The material is only available in 6' widths and we were told that there would be a seam. After the flooring is glued down the installers carve a small V in the seam and the melt a matching plastic material into this to create a welded seam. We do not have a big kitchen. In places the seam is almost invisible but the majority of it is readily seen as a seam. It draws the eye to near the center of the floor.
and the owner was nice enough to come out a look at the floor. He said that they may be able to do something to make the seam less visible but the repair may make the condition worse. He told us that he would be in touch to arrange for his crew to come out but we never heard from him again. Based on the remark of making things worse we have not pursued the repair.
I have viewed installations on-line and in person that have an almost invisible seam (as we have on a few inches) so I have to believe that this is an installation defect. We have covered most of the seam with a rug and a table.
This being said, we still like the material and the color and have a generally good feeling about the company. Just be aware that if you wish to use the Marmoleum you might want to look elsewhere for installation."
is such a wonderful person and great to work with. He pays attention to all the little details. The wood molding that he installed in 3 rooms, he also stained and varnished to match our cabinets. It looks fabulous."
Got a couple estimates for flooring and tile (Marmoleum floor and ceramic tile) and they were all pretty close (two within $3) so I went with
because they seemed to have the most experience with Marmoleum. Put down a deposit in April, and had them demo the old floor after the remodel started in May. Part of the old floor ...more came up very easy but half they had to cut out and replace with new plywood. Took about a day. Flooring went in probably two weeks after that. It was Marmoleum planks and the installer was courteous, showed up on time and finished in little over a day. He put down shoe molding too. Looks pretty good, very nice flooring. Tile backsplash was done probably two weeks later after countertops went in. Tile looks good, there's one or two spots where there's a bump that I don't like, but mostly good.
"He was fine, it was just an extremely high quote so we decided not to go with him. He was very professional, he came out to take measurements and got a quote back to us the next day, which was great. However, the quote was about $1000 more than all of our other quotes. "
