,serif;">I thought that they were great. They are a complete opposite of a hard sale company. They are very responsive and they are always right there. There was a scratch in one of the windows on the interior. So, they came and replaced that window the next day. The workers were great, very communicative and shared information. They did the job faster than they said they would do it."A
"They were very expensive. They were very professional and knowledgeable. It was a good experience. The estimate was complicated and it wasn?t itemized. They were very good about responding to my questions through email quickly and thoroughly."

"I have paid the deposit and waiting for the work to be done. A friend of mine used them and had a really good experience. They made the estimate compared to the other estimates. They was one little thing that I was unhappy. After the order was placed, I called to change the color of the glass within two days of the estimate. This delayed the order for over a week. They didn?t tell me that until after the delay. I felt that I should have been notified immediately. I was very disappointed with that. They weren?t timely in telling me what was happening."

"I was referred to WoW by a friend. The initial estimate phase was a pleasure. was very technical in explaining what the new windows would do and look like, while at the same time, not sounding like a used-car salesman. The rest of the experience with WoW also proceeded smoothly, with two exceptions. First, was not very responsive to emails. Often times, I had to send him a reminder after a week of not hearing from him. Second, their windows do take a while to arrive (about 6 weeks in my case). I'm not sure if this is the production process or because didn't put the oprder through fast enough. In any case, when they did arrive and were installed, they looked very good. The contact people in the office (the Nowotny family) were very responsive and helped a lot. I would definitely use their service again."

"Since this was my first major remodeling project in my home, I was anxious about the process. Mr. came on several occasions and explained the steps he would need to accomplish what I wanted. He listened to my ideas as to what I expected. He made suggestions as to how to improve the look of my enclosed room. He and his workers were professional and always on time. Had to do some extras because of the age of the home but let me know ahead of time what needed to be done. Cost was a big factor so he kept me aware as to the price of anything extra outside of the contract. Not really sure how to make a comparison with regard to price, but it looks wonderful and I am pleased. Certainly plan to use his company for my bathroom projects."

"This was completed in two visits. The first visit included an inspection and measuring. The second visit was the installation which was very quick. The repairman and company was very professional."

"I bought a Big Deal that I had got from Angie's List. I got a coupon from that company wherein I could get $500 worth of windows if I paid $200. In little writing on the bottom it said I could only use one coupon for six windows. I think they had that problem with other people so they let me use two coupons for five windows. It was a weird situation. They haven?t installed the windows yet. I called them and they sent a salesperson out. I didn?t understand what they were trying to sell me when I had the coupons. It took me about an hour to understand what he was there for. He didn?t even measure and he sent someone else out to measure, which only took a minute but I had to be home for it. They haven?t even come out and they haven?t even called me back to have the windows installed. It was very strange. The salesperson came out about two Saturday?s ago and they came out on last Thursday to measure. However, it?s actually not their fault. It?s the miscommunication between the service provider and the company that offered the big deal. They were on time though. "

" came to give me an estimate on replacing vinyl windows. The scheduler on the telephone was very professional and courteous. was prompt, but seemed to interest once he realized I was looking for vinyl replacement windows. He commented on how bad my current windows were (and truly, they were horrible), took some measurements, showed me a quote on his computer and asked if he had answered all my questions. He didn't tell me the name of the windows (Thermal Industries) until I asked or the model/series number. When I asked, he seemed dismissive, saying--without elaboration--that all vinyl replacement windows are essentially the same. He suggested I drive past a nearby condo building where he had done the quote for a 200-window job. From this, I inferred that Renewal prefers large jobs to small ones, and wood windows (their specialty) to vinyl.
In his favor, he told me about a DC tax credit I might qualify for that none of the other windows companies had mentioned, and showed me the website through which I could apply for it. I appreciated that service.
At the end of the visit, said he had emailed me the quote. I would have preferred a hard copy at the end of the visit. In any event, I didn't receive his email. I called the office the following business day and he re-sent it, saying simply that he must have sent it to the wrong address the first time.
The quote, which did not list the brand or the series number, was competitive and they had a very attractive coupon for Angie's List members, but I didn't like the reviews I read of the brand they were using or the lack of interest they showed in the job. I went with another company and paid more."

"We contacted about a window problem in the early fall. At no cost to us, the owner, Butler, came over to help us diagnose the problem and explain what some of the potential implications of the problem were. We then considered a couple of bids to replace all of the windows in the house (original windows), and ultimately Holdfast's bid seemed the most reasonable and the timing promised for installation worked best with our schedule. provided a lot of helpful information about different types of windows and was also happy to work with us when we wanted to do less than the entire house. Once we decided to use his company, he returned to take detailed measurements, and was even able to secure delivery of the windows earlier than initially expected. In addition, he managed to commit a large team to the project during the holiday week between Christmas and new years. They arrived on time and finished the entire job by sun down. We love the new windows -- they already make the house warmer and we look forward to the first spring day to open up the house."
