"It took me a long time to fine one and I had to go through a million people but these people are fabulous. Rhya Marohn was the person that came. Each appointment is 45 minutes so it is not rushed. She came to the door on time and had followed up with a call telling me that she was coming. She had an exam report card with 13 different items and she checked off what appeared to be normal and not normal. She wrote what she noticed on the form and she wrote out a diagnosis and a bulleted recommendation. She has followed up monthly by email and she has been very receptive. The price included a military discount. She is very thorough and fabulous. She is responsive to questions and concerns. I couldn't be happier because I spent hours researching and calling to find a good mobile vet. She was in the

and got her veterinary degree and she also has a law degree. She wants to focus on animal rights. She doesn't rush and she follows through.

"The staff and Dr.
Washington Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
were wonderful with our new puppy. They were very good at explaining things as they were doing them, and answering all the many questions we had about our new pup. I think our puppy will be in good hands here. There's a little chaos at the front desk, but nothing major. What I wasn't crazy about: The cost! Yipes! I know pet care is expensive, and this IS Georgetown, but WOW!!! I chose
Washington Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
over our previous dog's vet because it's so close to our home. I thought it might be pricier than our other vet, but it was like 40 percent more! Waiting area is so cramped, no place to hang coat, so I was holding my purse, my coat, and my excitable leash-pulling puppy who was all too happy to see a bunch of cats. It got tangly and messy, and the cat owners were not amused.

DC veterinarians employ holistic treatment methods

The acupuncture needles Dr. Jordan Kocen uses are so small, a half dozen could fit inside a regular vaccine needle, he says. Pets often find the treatments relaxing and may lay down or walk around with the needles in their back.

"we've been going to
Washington Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Vet Clinic since we've owned them (3 years) and he experience has been very positive. They are good with reminding you when you are due for an appointment, are easy to work with to schedule an appointment, and generally on time keeping the appointment. we've loved our vets and they do seem to go the extra mile, including daily phone calls to check on the health of one of our cats who was very ill (don't worry...he recovered!). I'd very much recommend the
Washington Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Vet Clinic. However, if there are any drawbacks it has to do with price and professionalism. Their prices are a bit high...not ungodly but certainly not the cheapest around. And my issue with professionalism can be summed up with the following example: During my last visit I had both cats in a large crate. I was clearly struggling with the crate and although there were multiple people behind the desk, not one offered to help or even open the door. It's really more common courtesy than profesionalism...but those things count.

"I am thrilled with the Doctor's home visiting vet services and will not use any other Doctor unless she recommends them and or in the case of an emergency that she can not handle. This is my pet's vet for life! She also allowed me to use her as a resource and to help me determine when it is best to place my pup in occasional doggy day care and was familiar with several doggy day care providers in DC. My puppy was so inspired by the calm confidence of Dr

, that she ascended our stairs for the first time to follow the Dr. when she visited our family's restroom on the 2nd floor.

"I took my dog into the emergency room. He was distressed and experiencing pain in his abdomen. The emergency room doc was terrific. She took x rays, explained concern about a blockage (which is very serious), and advised keeping him overnight. She said if there is a blockage, they could do surgery there or I could take him to my usual vet. The following morning, she said she had taken follow up x rays, which showed significant improvement, he had defecated, which showed material was passing through this digestive tract, and that he seemed to be considerably more comfortable. She said he could go home, and that I would need to schedule that with the day staff. Then came the day staff. When I called to schedule pick up, a different doc said he could not go home. When I noted what the ER vet said, she retorted that "she was wrong." She would not or could not explain what had changed or why the ER vet's diagnosis was off. She pushed for a sonogram, and I agreed. Next, she left very urgent messages on my phone saying that the sonogram showed a long blockage, and that it was critical they do surgery immediately or the dog could do. The blockage could perforate or could have perforated already. When I spoke with her, she continued to push for immediate surgery. I asked about other options, such as watching him, since the earlier doctor who had actually seen him when he came in had a different diagnosis. This vet continued to insist on immediate surgery. They did the surgery a few hours later. I could have taken him to my own vet. Further, they were wrong. There was no obstruction. They did a biopsy which showed worms. When I subsequently requested the records from this experience, the receptionist initially refused, saying, "you won't understand them." A good vet is clear, the language that there is an obstruction is very different from there might be an obstruction. They also do other tests, such as a fecal, before doing seriously invasive surgery. They also help you with options, instead of insisting that they do it, immediately. In the records they provided me after the fact, a different vet at the clinic agreed with the ER doc that the x-rays showed considerable improvement. The records also show that no other tests were taken, nor had they spoken with the vet who actually examined the dog about why she had a different opinion. A blockage in a dog can be very serious, so is the surgery that opens the dog up to address the situation. I understand that diagnoses are not perfect, but expect the doc to be clear up front is there is any uncertainly. I also expect them to reconcile differences of opinion among their own staff. I expect calm explanation of the situation and the options, rather than scare tactics and refusal to even discuss other options. I expect them to suggest reasonable additional tests to help confirm their suspicions (or in this case, their certainty)."

"My cat had a flea infestation. It's first come first serve. He stated that had to wait for an hour and a half. the did not give a reason, just that they where backed up. I was satisfied for the service. Price was a little steep for what they had done."

"We had a short wait. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The techs weighed Buster and got a general idea of why we were visiting. Then he saw the vet, who was very engaging and professional. Buster really liked her. They discussed his problems, gave him his shot, treated his ears and skin and provided me with his meds and topical treatments. Everything was explained and Buster and I were out in due order. Overall a great experience. I do wish they were less expensive. We didn't get out cheaply."

"The vet herself was nice but she did not detect my dog's heart murmur that another vet immediately picked up on. Both my dog and cat cried excessively when vet techs

blood from them. It took the vet techs a long time to draw the blood. I was disturbed by the amount my pets seemed to suffer from the experience of having their blood drawn by these techs."

"We have two, 3 month old kittens. Over the weekend we noticed a significant change in the behavior (eating, litter box, playfulness, and socialize). I took her in on Sunday morning at 8:30. Friendship was not only open, I was received by very friendly, caring and helpful staff who took the info and paged a tech to do an initial check-up on our cat. At the same time, they got me a cup of coffee from the waiting area...all this in the first 5 minutes of being there WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. Wow. Well, it was a long day, our kitty had a GI issue and was retaining gas. It took quite a bit of work to determine this and

out foreign objects or needs for surgery. The whole way through, our vet, Dr.
Washington Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, kept me informed of everything and gave me the ability to make the best decision on our cats care based upon the information we knew and what I felt was best (advised by the vet of course). It was a long day, and yes it was a bit expensive...but, within 24 hours our little kitty was running around, eating, back in her litter box, and just being a normal kitten. I went here because it was a Sunday and we had an emergency. We are now moving the care of all our animals here permanently because of how wonderful they were. Take my advise, just grab a cup of coffee and sit in the lobby for an hour and see how wonderful they treat all the animals. Everyone here truly loves working with animals and it shows.

"They were always very caring an gave me alternatives to try. The prices were reasonable and they were always very good about getting me in when I needed to. The staff was wonderful. The owner is Dr.
Washington Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and he is just wonderful, very compassionate. When it came time to put her down he let me spend time with her, the whole process was treated like she was a human. They sent me a sympathy card that was signed by all the staff. I cannot say enough good things about them."
