I am afraid that if I gush about how much I really respect and appreciate this medical practice, the approvers at Angie's List will think I am a paid ringer!! But I really do value and trust the relationship I have with Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
and Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
.
There are many reasons why I am so pleased with
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
. The pediatricians are all very intelligent and insightful. They respect me as a parent and listen to my concerns and opinions. I feel they strike the right balance on when and how to medicate, while keeping all appropriate options on the table.
When my girls were babies, I wanted to space out their immunizations to have no more than 2 administered at any one time. There may not be good science to back my feeling, but I felt strongly about it... Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
heard my concerns and made a new immunization schedule for my daughters so they would get what the needed at the right times, but not all at the same time. She never made me feel silly or that my concern was a problem.
When my oldest daughter was still a toddler, she became very sick at Christmas time. Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
was in the office the day after Christmas. He suspected a fairly rare condition, consulted with the other pediatrician in the office at the time who concurred - and they had us booked into Children's hospital immediately for further testing. Their hunch was right and my daughter was admitted to Children's for a week for treatment. During that week Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
and Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
called us to check on my daughter's progress and answer our questions. Her condition was one that often goes untreated for a long time because of misdiagnosis and it can result in death in children. I am forever grateful that Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
was able to recognize the subtle signs in my daughter and ensure she received immediate care!
My final example of awe for this practice has to do with my younger daughter. When she was an infant, she would spit up a lot after breastfeeding. I mentioned it to Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
. We discussed my diet, and ultimately Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
suspected that my daughter might be sensitive to dairy and soy proteins in my milk. When I changed my diet, the impact on my daughter was like night and day. Barely a burp! I appreciated Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
's knowledge and the fact that we were able to bring relief to my daughter through insightful doctoring, before jumping into lots of tests (although I have no doubt that tests would have been recommended if needed).
The doctors at this practice charge more than what my insurance feels is reasonable and customary - but I am happy to pay the difference for such extra-ordinary good care.

Since it was Feb there seemed to be more "sickness" going around so it was busy. We could only go during the walk-in time period so it was first come first served. The wait was the longest part. Once we saw the PA and doctor, they were very nice and accommodating. We had to get an nebulizer for our child and had to really ask them to slow down when giving us the instructions on how to use it. I think they've prescribed the breather to so many babies they seemed to forget that their patients may not know how to use one. (I the end it wasn't that hard.)

Overall, we've been going to this practice for over four years now; one for our first child and now for the second. I'd recommended this practice.

We were lucky in that our children haven't had any major issues with their health so the basic care has been fine up until now and since I stay at home with our kids I can afford to wait longer than others.

I am switching pediatricians now because my son just had a traumatic experience getting his blood drawn from their lab technician (outsourced through another company). The gruff woman poked the arms of our two year old 4 TIMES without drawing any blood, each time digging with the needle. This was our son's first time getting blood drawn the way adults do, and she was obviously not good with children and didn't prepare him well. It was horrible to watch and I feel terrible for putting all of my trust in the lab technician, watching her treat our baby like a pin cushion. After raising the issue with the Dr., she told me she was happy I raised it with her and that she would have it "taken care of". I don't know what they will do, but damage is done.

Another issue was that the appointment felt rushed. They always do with Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
since the office is so busy. She was so rushed I am pretty certain she missed my son's ear infection. I specifically mentioned that our son was complaining about his ears and that he had cold like symptoms, but she said he checked out fine and should't worry. The next evening he was with fever and complaining more about his ears so I had to take him back in again. At this point she remarked "is't it amazing how quickly their bodies change!?".

Anyways, this is not the place for personable care at all. They obviously cut corners at their little patients' expense.

Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
has been seeing our daughter since she was 4 days old. Because she is one of only a few attending physicians in the internal medicine resident training program, it can be difficult to have her as your regular physician. However, that does not matter. Every doctor in the internal medicine clinic, including the residents, is excellent. Typically, a resident will see the patient (in our case, our baby). That doctor will spend 15-20 minutes listening to anything you need to discuss, and doing a thorough check-up on the patient. Then, the resident will report his/her findings to the attending physician, Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
, who then spend another 10 minutes or so discussing the reason for the visit, and the treatment options. You get two opinions for the price of one, and you leave without the feeling of being rushed. I also see another doctor in this office as my primary care phyician. They are all great. They also have electronic medical records, and for babies, they offer a nurse-staffed hotline and special afternoon urgent care appointments. Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
is an excellent doctor, and the care from everyone at her office is the best you can get.

The only downside is that some of the non-medical office staff does not have a great attitude. Because of this, you are likely to wait 15-20 minutes, but its a very busy doctor's office in a world-class hospital, so that's expected. This does not
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
us from staying with Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
. She is that good.

Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
came highly recommended and she has been our daughter's pediatrician since she was born. She spends the time to listen and does not rush through even on her busiest days. She is also responsive via phone. She's caring and practical with her medical advice. We have highly recommended her to friends.

Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
was great with my 6 month old daughter. She introduced herself and made sure my daughter was comfortable with her prior to beginning her exam. Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
did not seem to be in a hurry and seemed eager to talk about all of my concerns and offered advice on how to deal with developmental and nutritional issues. She was very friendly and professional.

we've only seen Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
once--the day of our first visit after coming home from the hospital. She was great as was the lactation consultant whom we also saw only that day. Most well-child visits, we see Nurse Hunter, who is very sweet, but who repeats the same dozen or so nuggets of advice several times within each visit. My husband and I have made it into a running joke. Scheduling sick-child visits can be difficult--they often don't have any appointments available until very late in the day, by which point the waiting room is a zoo full of sick kids and they are way, way behind schedule. We once waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes after an appointment, and another 20 in the exam room before being seen. Most sick visits, we've seen one of the other doctors besides Dr
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
and they've all been good. we've been fortunate to only have minor issues like ear infections and colds. The nurse who comes in at the end to deliver shots is really sweet. The front desk staff is a bit gruff, but I've never had any problems with billing; they take my insurance, so I just pay a $15 copay each visit.

We consulted Dr.
Washington Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
for our new born. She is an open minded doctor. She uses latest technology and keeps herself up to date. She is flexible with the treatments or consultations. She has convenient working hours. She spends a lot of time with her patients and explains everything in detail. We like her services and will continue to use them in future.

I like her professional nature. They keep appointments on time. The nurses are polite and answer all of your questions. The waiting rooms are kind of a mess. The support staff is not very friendly. It is hard to get a call back on the same day when you call the doctor?s office with a question.

With just the two doctors in the practice, you get to know each pretty well. It's been very easy to get appointments and they're always on time for them. They are both very friendly, explain things well and aren't pushy. We appreciate how much time they spend with us every visit, talking things through and making sure all of our questions are answered. We also really appreciate that they aren't quick to prescribe medications, but are interested in discovering causes so as to be more preventative (ex. Our daughter had a skin rash and instead of prescribing a steroid to treat the rash they took time with us to help figure out what was causing it. We figured it out, eliminated the cause and the rash disappeared). All of the nurses and staff are also very friendly. We really like this practice and recommend them to everyone.
