Remodeling Reviews in Washington

did full kitchen remodeling for our condo in DC starting from initial estimate, design, installation and repairing. We received absolutely new kitchen from top to bottom. The whole project was on-time (even earlier) and on budget. The technicians were very skilled and responsible, the manager was always on top on the every detail for the project. We loved the results and recommend
as a reliable contractor.

Shy and
are the best. We have used them twice and both times the work was outstanding (complete renovation of a bathroom and total roof replacement), enough so that we have just hired them again to renovate a second bathroom and plan on using for a kitchen renovation. The workmanship is great, the communication is great, the problem solving is great, the crew is great; clean up every night is great, the contract is complete, timing of the job is on point. Shy and
are very knowledgeable, they are very creative, we cannot say enough good about them.

Started the project fine, but as soon as second payment 2/3 total cost was paid, the work slowed to a crawl. Hung bragged to me about renovating his parents home in two weeks, but my two month project has now gone passed nine months. The quality of work is horrible. Walls are crooked. He was to continue a maple hardwood floor into the new section of the master bedroom. Hung used oak wood and told me "they do not make maple wood floors anymore."

like this are commonplace with Hung. We have mold growing on new dry wall where water was allowed to flood into the basement apartment through unsealed windows. I explained to Hung that I have COPD, and I am highly vulnerable to mold. That was February and he simply did not care. He failed to pull the required permits as stipulated in the contract for the basement phase. Hung will lie, avoid customers, and gave me the appearance he has no idea how to effectively manage a project, or anything about quality control, or customer service. The subcontractors all complain about not being paid. I am aware other customers have had a similar experience as us, and they are pursuing other action against

Generally went ok. They were helpful in the design and gathering of the right fixtures. They would go through stretches of being quite responsive and helpful, and then periods where it was hard to get an answer from them.
The quality overall was good. We had a few issues along the way (e.g., installing the wrong type of pipes despite our agreeing to a specific set), most of which they were able to fix at their cost. The one thing they couldn't fix was the tile, which was good, but very slightly uneven. They also accidentally cut a line that was in the wall for the doorbell, which we didn't realize until a couple days after they left.
Overall, they were fine, I'd be happy to work with them again, but I'm not rushing to tell my friends about them either.

, the owner, showed up promptly on time at my home and introduced himself. Once inside, we told him what we wanted for the bathroom then we left him alone to do his thing. After about 45 minutes, he met with me and my wife and showed on his computer detailed color pictures of what our redesigned bathroom would look like -- they were great. The images were from multiple perspectives, giving a very good representation of what the end result would look like. He listened to our questions and thoughts and made a few tweaks to the images (the program he used was really impressive and quick). We were reassured that what we hoped to accomplish was doable.

I needed to repair soffits in my kitchen that were improperly built - whoever did them installed the wall cabinets first and them build them, rather than the other way around,

cleverly designed a way to repair them in a timely and economical way, without compromising quality. He did an absolutely fantastic job, along with a extremely knowledgable helper. I am delighted how things look like now.

came to our house, looked at our two spaces for work, and gave us a full design consultaiton including pictures, drawings, etc. He was extremely helpful and honest about what he could do and about his prices. Seemed like a great company to do high quality work, but their prices were just a bit too high for us at this point. Would definitely look to them for work in the future if/when our needs change.

The contractor will not work on condominiums over 4 stories because of past experiences with a lack of support by condo personnel for activities like water shut-off switching.

I used the service because it had a coupon for $99, and I knew I would need to remodel an apartment kitchen when my tenant left.

came by at the time agreed and spent about 45 minutes in the space, and then sent the designs to me by dropbox. While he was there, we talked through options. It was a small kitchen with very few options, but

had some great ideas for what could be done. He was able to determine that one wall wasn't load bearing and could easily be removed to accommodate more space for the kitchen, and he even gave me options for heating the (unheated) apartment (which at this point requires baseboard heaters). So, I got a lot more than kitchen designs. I am pretty sure when I do remodel I'll use them. I have confidence they'll do a good job.

First, I have worked with many contractors in the past, usually finding them through referrals. This is the first one I used for renovations off of Angie's List and I couldn't tell you how pleased I am with my experience with

and his team were very responsive in quoting out the work, they worked within my budget and we still were able to achieve the exact look and and feel I wanted for the kitchen. I provided the design inspiration, and also knew what look, tiles, and color scheme I wanted. Something I recommend to everyone is to cut out or bookmark images that serve as an inspiration to your project to help the contractor understand the look you are going for.

was able to work within my short time-frame and obtained the cabinets and commenced work on-schedule.
Their team is professional, quiet, and courteous, and kept the place clean after each day. I did not receive one emergency call, or any calls to inform me something could not be done. Each day I visited the remodel and provided real-time feedback on any questions.

and the team were responsive and flexible in meeting any small new requests I had as well, which I appreciated. I wish I could post a before and after picture for you, the kitchen really looks fabulous and transformed the entire condo space into an open concept flow.
I would definitely recommend
