Interior Painting Reviews in Washington

Upon contacting
Berrera immediately set up an appt to assess the request. He was very knowledgeable and stated upfront that he was trying to
the business and be a repeat customer. Our initial appt to start the work had to be rescheduled and
was fully accountable for his overbooking and adjusted the bill. The
team did a good job at power washing the exterior of the home and painting all the trim on the house. It really looks great and we've received requests for referrals. The only minor issue we raised, which
was appreciative of, was there were some paint chips left so the clean up in the yard could have been a bit better.

I found
on Angie's List .
arrived at my row house on time and was pleasant and professional as I showed him where in the house I wanted work done. He seemed perfectly willing and able to do the work and promised a timely response with an estimate. After two days I called
telling him I had not received an estimate. He seemed surprised and, since he was on the road, would send an estimate as soon as he returned to the office. Two more days passed without any word from
. I called and left another message. Several days passed and still no response from
. At t his point my patience had run out and I called yet again to
my dissatisfaction and to tell Mr.
I would share my sentiments in a review on Angies List. Not surprisingly I received an immediate return phone call from
who apologized profusely, gave me his personal cell phone number and adamantly promised the imminent arrival of an estimate.
That was a month ago. Amazingly, I have still not heard from

Interior Painting reviews in Washington

I am very satisfied with the service I received from provider. Workers arrived on time and finished job in the time specified by The Deal. I had damage around my bathroom skylight that had not been repaired when I had the skylight replaced sometime ago. Provider did an excellent job! Also, I had holes in the ceiling of 4 rooms made by a disreputable contractor I had hired a couple of years ago to install an air conditioning unit. I was very happy to finally not be looking up into my attic from the bedrooms. Thanks again. Angie's List rocks!

In short, Benchmark did great work on what was, candidly, a challenging project due to the fact that the interior of the home is Poured Plaster Walls in a 80-year old City Townhome. Unlike today's drywall painting jobs, having a company that can do plaster wall work and make it look beautiful and ready for sale is no small feat. The work included wall repair, caulking, trim work, and new paint.

I purchased a deal via Angie's list for 2 painters for 8 hours. I called prior to making this purchase to describe what I wanted done and was told that it was reasonable to expect they should be able to finish it. I was not given a guarantee nor did I expect one. I deliberately opted to pay for a professional painting service because while I can paint on my own, I expected the end result to be better than what I would be able to perform and because it would be much faster. I also made a reasonable assumption that any limitations would be explained to me once the painters arrived.
When I made my appointment the woman I spoke to on the phone made it clear to me that if my job required additional
time I would be required to pay for it. At no time was I told there was a limit on the number of coats they would paint, that certain colors may require extra time, etc... I have never used professional grade paint (beyond what Home Depot sells) so I expected that with the newer materials perhaps the two coats and primer would do it. I readily agreed to pay any difference should the painters need additional time.
My painters arrived and were very pleasant. I will say that I had some concerns about the language

and while I have NO problem with this, that this may have contributed to the communication problems. Each area they were painting had an accent wall so two colors were required, two areas needed primer and others did not, I have deep inset windows, soffetting, and oddly shaped walls, so these were all items I was concerned about.
For the most part I am satisfied with the result, however when the painters left they had atleast an hour left. The paint was wet in three areas and they assured me it was "done" and that the disparity in color I saw was a result of that.
On closer examination I found the following:
- The baseboard line in several areas is not perfectly straight. Maybe this is nitpicking but I feel that these professionals performed at the same level I could have, I guess I expected the lines to be more precise.
That's a very minor gripe.

- There are small dots of dark paint in the window-sill in my bedroom (not sure why this wasn't taped or covered)There
are bubbles on spots on several of the walls, many disappeared as it dried but not sure what caused this. If it's because
additional time was needed between coats I wish someone would have communicated that.
- After a year there are still several bubbles of paint that never flattened. I also found drips and dots on numerous places on my floor. I have wood floors but if I'd had carpet this would have been a very big deal.
In the end, two areas needed atleast one additional coat of paint. I called and left a message explaining the situation, AND expressing my willingness to pay for the time required to do this.
When I spoke to the manager (

) the day after my painters left I was very disappointed with the conversation
we had. He was rude, impatient and so busy interrupting me that I was furious when I finally got off the phone.
At no time did I claim that I had been promised it would be completed, and I repeatedly expressed that I had been willing to pay for the extra time were that needed. In my opinion there were MANY options that were not exercised that could have averted this. I left my condo and provided the painter (

) with my phone number, I was less than 15 minutes away up the street working in a cafe. He called me once to ask about the window boxes so clearly he understood he could reach me. AT NO point did he call to indicate that they might not be able to finish. I also stopped by several hours before they finished, at which point he could have ALSO indicated that they would need more time, or an additional day. I would have GLADLY payed for extra time or been willing to accept that because of the colors I selected an additional time (hours, another day...) may be needed.
When they left I was assured that the job was done. It was NOT complete but I had no way of knowing since I was told that what I saw was a result of the wet paint.
While it's been a year since this experience I am still baffled that a customer service manager would interrupt me while I was speaking, attempt to inform me that it was MY fault because I assumed it could be done when it could not, tell me that
the painters put two coats of paint on the walls and that was all that was required (when the deal I purchased was clearly based on the amount of TIME not the number of coats of paint) and then tell me "maybe you shouldn't have selected dark colors". This type of attitude displayed a complete lack of customer service. At no time did he apologize or wait to hear me out.
I'm sure that, sadly, in fear of a bad review they called me back and offered to return the painters to complete an additional coat of paint on the areas that I needed completed.
It seems ridiculous to me even now that they ate the cost of a service I would have GLADLY paid for, had they shown me the tiniest amount of respect when I called with concerns.
The entire situation could have been avoided if at ANY time yesterday the painters had indicated they may need more time. Prior to the painters arriving any of the numerous people I spoke to on the phone could have also inquired about the paint color and scheduled me additional time or warned me that it may take longer. I am NOT a professional painter and have no idea how long is needed between coats or what colors take the most amount, etc... While I was relieved it was finished I sincerely wish that they could have offered this option to me before I had the unfortunate experience of a very tense and unpleasant phone call.
I recommend this business with hesitation, and the strong suggestion that you have a very specific conversation about the amount of work you want done, the colors of paint, and the level of effort required so that you have painters that are not rushed and are given adequate time to do a good job.

The project manager/estimator showed up on time and was courteous and made sure he understood all aspects of the job. They were knowledgeable about the carpentry and paint and finishes and types of approaches. On one part of the carpentry (replacement of a fascia board) they conducted research and found and recommended better material than we had originally discussed. And on my window sills that were being replaced they had not been sure they would be able to get the sill material in the style that fit my house. But once they found it, they called to discuss the find with me and get my OK to use it. Once work began they always arrived promptly. They were very careful to cover surfaces and not spill drip or spatter paint on surfaces that weren't being painted (like lamps and external hardware as well as plantings around the house). My neighbors complimented their diligence. My communication with the job foreman was always easy although I did have to repeat some of the instructions I had given to the estimator at the start of the job again to the job estimator. I was confident that the job foreman understood what I was asking for and he was always able to answer my questions. I was satisfied that they did a good job not only painting the surfaces, but prepping them (e.g. sanding, caulking etc.) well. I ended up asking them to look at and redo just one window sill from the entire job and they did, no problem. Their crew seemed to care about doing a good job and they were careful - which are the qualities you want in any contractor. After the job was complete, I was impressed that they made sure I was satisfied. When I had a question about something a week or two after they were done, they dropped by and addressed it. The painting and carpentry jobs look absolutely great. I am very satisfied and would definitely use them again.

We had three painters who moved quickly through a lot of space. We had a number of colors involved, and they got it all perfect with little consultation. They were super-friendly and answered all of our questions. They did get some paint on the floors that I had to clean up but it was pretty minor given everything else they did for us.

I cannot say enough good things about this organization. The work done was absolutely fantastic!
Washington Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
and his team catered to our very short schedule and worked hard to not only meet it but get done early. At one point there were about 12 painters in my home. The painters were incredibly kind and easy to work and the price was fair.

It went very well.

and his crew were very professional, courteous and attentive to details. The crew arrived on schedule everyday. I so enjoyed working with the crew that on three days I bought coffee and bread for them in the early mornings. The entire job took about six days (there were some rain delays).
My row house in upper NW DC is 87 years old, and now is easily the most attractive home from the

on my block. They did an excellent job scraping, priming and then repainting the front

wood beams (a dark chocolate brown), repairing and repainting the stucco (white), caulking windows, and repainting iron handrails. The chocolate brown wood now pops on the newly painted white stucco.

was always desiring to make me satisfied. Proof of this is that
Washington Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
has offered to do one more small indoor painting job for FREE, just to makeup for one occasion when he wasn't able to meet an agreed to appointment. I told him this is very kind of him, and it's great customer service.
They did a great job all around, and I'd happily work them again.
