"I originally contacted
back in August for a quote to pained my home. Of the multiple painters I brought out,
was" the most professional, punctual, and on point with the delivery of the quotation. I received multiple quotes for the work to be done. While certainly not the least expensive, I was so impressed with the level of customer service and support I received through the estimate process, I hired the firm to do the work. The team showed up on time and began the work immediately. I had opted to purchase all of the paint myself, but the estimate had included all the labor and materials.
fairly removed the cost of the paint from the estimate balance. The work they completed was absolutely gorgeous. I am so pleased with the work they performed; I will most definitely use them again when we move forward with painting the other rooms in the house. i would highly recommend this firm to anyone.

"It was not a good experience. First, the painter arrived late. Then he called to have one other painter come. I could hear their conversation and it was not nice" and was unprofessional. I had hired someone for the job so that the work would be better than what I could have done. However, I ended up having to hire someone else to re-do the painting they had done.

should painting or florring come first in a remodeling project (Photo by member Jane A. of Alpharetta, Ga.)

Remodeling tip: Should painting or flooring come first?

Angie Hicks responds to a member who wants to know whether interior painting should come before or after the installation of hardwood flooring.

Utilizing the proper tools can ensure the best paint job possible.

Interior Painting

Professional decorators say painting is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to dramatically change the look of a room. It's also one of the more accessible do-it-yourself projects for the homeowner, though a professional interior painting company will likely do a better and more long-lasting job.

Painting - Interior

Have you ever had a leaky roof leave a water stain on your ceiling? Has your home settled over the years and you are starting to see stress fractures and nail heads popping out of the drywall?

These are the most common problems with ceilings, and unless they are addressed, they can be quite an eyesore. If you are ready to tackle the project yourself, follow these simple tips and you will have a freshly painted ceiling in no time.

That's very difficult to answer without seeing the house. As one poster said, the prep is the most important part. On newer homes that don't have a lot of peeling paint, the prep can be very minimal even as low as a couple or a few hundred dollars for the prep labor.

On a 100 year old home with 12 coats of peeling paint on it, then the prep costs can be very high and can easily exceed 50% of the job's labor cost.

A 2100 sq ft two story home could easily cost $1000 just for the labor to prep for the paint job. That number could climb too. Throw in lots of caullking  or window glazing, and you could be talking a couple or a few hundred dollars more for labor.

Painting that home with one coat of paint and a different color on the trim could run roughly $1000 or more just for labor. Add a second coat  and that could cost close to another $1000 for labor.

For paint, you may need 20 gallons of paint. You can pay from $30-$70 for a gallon of good quality exterior paint. The manufacturer of the paint should be specified in any painting contract. Otherwise, the contractor could bid at a Sherwin-Williams $60 per gallon paint and then paint the house with $35 Valspar and pocket the difference. $25 dollars per gallon times 20 gallons? That's a pretty penny too.

That was the long answer to your question. The short answer is $2000 to $4000 and up, depending upon the amount of prep, the number of coats, the amount of trim, and the paint used.

Hair spray is one of those things that is really bothersome.  We've run into this alot unfortunately.  And NOTHING we've found will actually clean it off.  The problem is that if you just paint over it, you still see shiny spots wherever the hairspray was.

Our companie's policy is to prime the area with any bonding primer.  This will seal the hairspray in and not let it affect the next coat of paint.  It would also be a good idea to lightly sand the area first.

Our recommendation for primer would be Zinsser's BIN Spray (red can) and can be bought at most paint stores or home improvement stores.  Other than that, any thing that specifically says "bonding" for a primer should be adequate enough.
?
Without seeing the project I'm not sure exactly what is happening.  HOWEVER, I've never heard of someone "floating" over paint blisters - just logically that can't work.  If air or moisture are trapped (because that's what causes blisters) painting over them won't fix the initial problem.

I have a couple suggestions - My first would have been to contact the paint manufacturer - whether it's sherwin williams, benjamin moore, behr, etc. to see if they would send a rep out to give their recommendation.  We have done this before starting a project to get the best possible recommendation for work to be done and have found them to be very helpful in diagnosing what is currently going on and the best way to fix it.

If that doesn't work, I would call either the better business bureau or maybe the local paper if your contractor isn't willing to work through the problem with you.  Also, If your contractor warrantied the work I might re-read that to see what they cover if anything.

My guess is that there will have to be some sort of dispute resolution process.

Hope this helps!

Yes - absolutely!  Refinishing is THE VERY BEST way to go to avoid tearing out a perfectly good bathtub that just LOOKS bad after years of use.  Go to the link below for some before and after refinishing pictures of acrylic tubs.

It was great! I am typically a huge critic but I have only great things to say about
Washington Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
and his team. They arrived promptly at 7am and immediately began prepping the home and covering all of the furniture. I then left for the day to come back around 3 to see them taking care of every detail. My place looks better than I imagined.

It was not just the actual day of services but the experience overall. He got back to me with a date and then came to look at my space and told me what type of paint was best to use, how much to purchase and sent me an email reminder a day or two before to make certain that I had everything that was needed (which I didn't). Courteous, friendly and most importantly efficient and effective. My place looks great.

Excellent contractor, which is very competitive in terms of price. High quality finish, but one needs to supervise and demand perfect execution.

Amazing service! I searched for laminate installation on Angie's List and acquired
Washington Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
's name; I called him up and he was able to come out personally the following day for a free estimate. I gave him the sample from Home Depot and he offered an estimate that was almost 200% below the average estimate for the same job while still offering to use the exact product we wanted. The job took approximately a day and a half and the contractors were professional and cordial (not even minding the wandering Akita roaming throughout the house). I would highly reccomend!

Scheduled for 4 days. Days 1 and 2 were very good. Day 3 was rushed with the painters trying to do in 1 day what was scheduled for 2 days. The results in the taping, paint on furniture and in general mess of the house. Would have told painters not to come back if day 3 had been day 1.

This was one of Angie's list deal of the day. It started out well and the company was very responsive to my e-mails. Midway through our communication they got non responsive so I had to reach out multiple times to get someone to schedule for services. Finally they responded and we agreed on a day for the painters to come out. On the day of the appointment, which was at 10am, no one showed up at the house. Around 10:30am I called to follow up and was told they would have someone over ASAP. The painters (2) did not show up until 3pm. They saw the space and told my husband we would need 1 can of paint which he went to purchase. Midway through the job they run out of paint and apologized stating that the room was too dark when they got there which
Washington Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
them to misjudge how much paint would be needed! Initial paint was from BM and they had closed by the time they ran out so we had to go get SW to try and match the paint, which we are happy that worked out. In my correspondence with them I had clearly described the job as 'painting of basement and minor touch-ups of paint job in the bathroom'. Once they were done with the basement we asked them to do the touch ups and they started complaining that it was too much work. Mind you the deal was for a painter for the day or 4 total hours of work for two painters. They were still within the 4hr window at this time and they refused to do the touch ups. The guy even told my husband had he known he would need to do the additional work he would have been much slower in the basement painting so that he could utilize his full 4hrs. At this point it was getting late and we had just had it with them so we didn't even bother with them anymore. The final straw was when one of the painters actually had the nerve to ask my husband for a tip! After they left, the lady from the office called to ask how services went and we told her that we were very unhappy reminding her that we had been very accommodating with them since they showed up 5hrs after the scheduled time of the appointment. She called me the next morning to apologize and said that since we were unhappy she would refund us the deal. It's been close to 3 months and no refund received. We didn't ask for a refund, she is the one who offered and still didn't follow through. I spent the weekend following the day the services were done repainting my basement because the painters had done such a terrible job. To make matters worse they spilled paint on my carpet and couch. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all cost!

While I didn't end up hiring
Washington Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
Painting, I would definitely call them in the future.
Washington Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
was excellent to work with! Within minutes of submitting a question online to him, he responded to arrange a time to see my place and give me an estimate. He went out of his way to accommodate my schedule and met me the next day. What impressed me most was his honesty and professionalism. He knew I was comparing quotes and after seeing the place, was upfront with me that my contractor had given me a very fair deal. Instead of trying to persuade me into choosing him, he was honest that he couldn't beat the price because my contractor was able to bundle the work with other projects he was doing and therefore reduce the price. I appreciated that because it also made me feel better about the quote I had been given. I will definitely call
Washington Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
next time I have a project and refer friends his way.
