Interior Design reviews in Washington

Just what we were hoping for. Validated our design plans, giving us helpful hints along the way. Helped us develop a color palette that both the wife and I liked. Developed a design plan for the entire condo in just a short amount of time. She was very professional, bringing with her several books worth of designs and colors to work with. Excellent at drawing out designs. Friendly and easy to work with. Would certainly reccomend her for someone who's on the fence about working with a designer because she'll explain everything thoroughly and won't waste your time/money.

We picked colors and then went into panic mode the weekend before the painter we're going to start.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
came out will only one days notice and spent a good amount of time with us going through our color scheme to make sure it would work. He listened to our concerns and made some good suggestions that we took. The colors look great and flow just the way we expected.

Working with

was really great.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
(the owner of Impact) has a business/consulting background and therefore is very metric oriented--spreadsheets, interactive websites with calendars that get updated, etc. My husband and I are both lawyers and appreciated this documentation of every step and detail. However, once the project started, we only contacted
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
to rave about the awesome work that was being done. Oly was the project manager and was very communicative and creative in his problem solving.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was the lead carpenter and was SO detail oriented he put me to shame. He would send me pictures of different tile configurations via text message and ask me which I prefer--I sometimes would need to ask him what the differences were between the two and he would explain a very (very!) subtle nuance. Of course, I would prefer this over having someone make decisions and just hope I agreed with him later. We had very open communication the entire time. Their craftsmanship was really impressive--even in the smallest details. I think that most telling of the crew's work ethic and commitment to quality was that they had to install the final piece of the project--a rather tricky pull-out table--after 98% of the project was complete and 100% paid for. They were at the house late into the night to make sure they completed it perfectly. I've had many other experiences with contractors who say "good enough" at the end of the project just to finish it off.
The only hiccup came when our cabinets were delayed by 3 weeks. While this was not Impact's fault, we had used a cabinet vendor/broker recommended by them. We were not as impressed with their communication and problem solving as we were with Impact's communication.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was very responsive when we ran into issues with them and I understand he was as disappointed as we were with their handling of things, but it was the single dark cloud in the whole process
We absolutely love our new kitchen and wonder how we ever managed to live with the old. We will definitely be using Impact for future projects.
Approximately $43,000 of our project was fixtures including appliances (cabinets that maximize the space in an 1895 row house need to be custom or semi-custom and that accounted for $25,000 of this amount); appliances were approximately $6,000; we blew our budget on the tile and spent approximately $4500 on the backsplash (white subway tile) and custom hex tile with a custom border for the floor.

In a word, fantastic!
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
is a smart, thoughtful, ethical, fun, yet no nonsense design expert who got our tastes immediately. We aren't immediately given to trusting someone to choose the look of our space, but as we talked, my wife and I quickly came to trust
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
to choose colors, paints, flooring, tile, furniture, etc. and to make it all work well together. She's a gem, and I'd definitely work with her again.
She's prompt in responding, usually by email or text, and she follows through on her commitments. Our job was relatively small, even if very important to us, but
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
never made us feel like she wasn't focused on it. She has a great eye and can visualize how a variety of combinations of colors, materials, etc. will look and work together.
Her pricing is fair, perhaps not the cheapest, but this is a case where you get what you pay for. She also is able to get better prices on supplies/fixtures/furniture than we would have, had we gone directly to the store to make a purchase. Further, she saved us so much time via her encyclopedic knowledge of suppliers and stores.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
helped us get a good contractor to do the work, and she intervened for us when necessary to make sure his team stuck to the plan.
The only word of caution I would sound -- and she told us this herself -- is that she is a bit of a victim of her own success.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
has many jobs going on simultaneously, so it can be difficult to schedule an in-person meeting on occasion. But, really, that's a pretty good problem to have, i.e. a designer who is so good that everyone wants some of her time!

We liked him so much that we also asked him to advise on other projects that were not included in the scope of his living room design work (e.g., advice for our kitchen tiles, color scheme throughout the house). We have, and will continue to call on
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
for his

eye and sense of style.

I've known the owner of
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
for years as a person with a livable, comfortable, but always pulled together home, so I was excited to learn about her business. I had two projects that I'd been putting off for a long time: selecting extra dining room chairs and
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
an empty corner in the den. She came to the house, asked a series of very insightful questions, and followed up within 48 hours with
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
suggestions and -- here's the best part -- links to where I could find just what I need online at budget friendly places like Overstock, Home Goods, etc.
This isn't one of those "Pay a huge retainer and wait 24-26 weeks until something arrives from Europe" services. She offers down-to-earth advice for a down-to-earth fee for people who want to spruce up a room quickly. She was particularly good in breaking through my "purchase paralysis." I had bookmarked about a dozen chairs I liked. She went through them with me, pointing out the pros and cons of each one. Her follow-up recommendation included the best of those, plus a few other online options I hadn't seen.
I would definitely use this service again. I've made some expensive
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
mistakes over the years -- like a paint color that was fine during the day but terrible at night or window treatments that didn't take into account how the room is used. This seems like a good "insurance policy" to help me think through what I really want, while sticking to the budget.

he kitchen in our 106-year-old DC rowhouse was in serious need of an upgrade. It had last been updated in the 1960s or 70s, and looked it. It's a small space--essentially a 10 by 12 foot kitchen with a 5 by 8 foot hallway leading in from the dining room. Opening into the hallway are doors to a powder room and the basement stairs; behind these are stairs coming down from the 2nd floor. We wanted to retain these features, as well as retaining as much of the exposed brick as possible along the long wall. We knew we wanted to maximize counter space by moving the sink to the long wall, which would require swapping the back door and window. And we knew we wanted to feature an artwork by our favorite local artist on the brick wall. Beyond that, we really didn't know what we wanted. Enter Sunday Kitchen and Bath.
We met initially with Will, told him our basic ideas, and asked him if he thought this was feasible. He was very encouraging, asking great questions and making equally great suggestions. He connected us with
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
, who came by the house, took some measurements, and asked many more excellent questions. Within about a week,
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
had put together a beautiful, initial design that really didn't change substantially after that, other than swapping a cabinet here, resizing a drawer there. It was from
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
that we learned we could match the new cabinets to the existing quarter-sawn oak throughout the first floor of the house.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
presented us with many, many design options and helpfully guided us in making the numerous decisions needed to maximize efficient use of space and transform the least attractive room in the house into the most attractive.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
and Will also made suggestions along the way, demonstrating why Sunday Kitchen and Bath is such an effective design team.
SKB also provided very helpful recommendations on contractors and sources for the appliances and countertops, and helped coordinate all of these aspects of the project. We are thoroughly pleased with every aspect of our kitchen renovation, and we owe a very great deal of that to Sunday Kitchen and Bath. The finished product is as beautiful as it is functional, neither of which could be said for the old kitchen (we estimate that we tripled our counter and storage space). When our friends see the new kitchen they either squeal with delight or stop dead in their tracks--the transformation is that complete.

It is an understatement to say that my bathroom is gorgeous. My friends are so impressed every time they see it. It's very "spa like," and when I'm stressed, I find that I feel much better just being in my bathroom. What is also especially important to me is that
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was extremely responsive. She would respond to my emails and calls in a timely manner, which was something I had found exasperating with the last designer I had worked with. No matter how busy she was, she would get back to me, even if her email was sent late at night.
I'm someone who generally knows what I like and don't like once it's put together, but I can't put it together myself.
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was perfect for that, and she saved me an inordinate amount of time and stress by pulling together a few options for me to consider. I also found her prices to be very reasonable. Among other things, unlike other decorators, she does not charge a markup on items that she gets a discount on; she passes that through to the client. I have several more design projects to do in my house, and I will use
Washington Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
for them.

I have never worked with an interior designer before, but I bought a new condo, about 1000 sq feet and I did not want to make any mistakes in this small space. She provided that second voice to help me think about the consequences of one choice over another. What I liked best is that she sent me directly to vendors she uses, who knew her, and carried quality products. That alone saved me a lot of time and research, that i really diid not want to do. Also, she was able to save me a lot of money with her designer discount. I saved $400 on the sofa which basically covered her total costs! We communicated well over email and for the most part she was super responsive. She initially asked me how much I wanted to spend, and having no idea what costs really were, I saiid 10-15K. I went way over that, but I am pleased with the quick outcome.
