When I discovered skeptical, but decided to go for it based on the hundreds of reviews. I am also not technically savvy and was concerned about the installation process.

The system is very easy to use and it also has an app for android/blackberry/i-phone, which is also easy to use.
After failing to get the system to work using the emailed trouble shooting instructions, we had about two weeks of back and forth phone calls between my husband and the alarm company. They didn't always answer their phone and weren't available on weekends. My husband was furloughed at the time, so he was at home. He was extremely, extremely frustrated at the inability to reach the company through the general number during normal business hours - and I was only home on weekends when they weren't available. I don't understand why it was so hard to connect with them - and you couldn't call them unless you were at home with the system so they could give instructions - so it didn't work for me to call them from my office.
Ultimately, we returned the system very frustrated. I read many reviews of satisfied customers and wished that we could have been among them. I liked the concept of an easy to install system - and their online instructions were very clear. If it would have worked, we would have been happy. But because it didn't work, and their follow up service was so poorly executed, I would not recommend them to a friend.
They also never refunded all of the money - there is still an outstanding charge of $14.99 - I'm not sure what it was for, because we were supposed to get the first two months of monitoring we paid (which is $14.99 per month). And from the review above, you can see that we never achieved monitoring status! But I'm not even going to bother calling them for a refund, because I am assuming I won't be able to reach someone on their general phone line. I guess I could call AmEx to dispute the charge, but at this point, I think I'm done with

Others have mentioned, but I agree, the ability to add video monitoring will also be super helpful.
The products are overall pretty good, had a few issues with false alarms being sent for reasons I still haven't been able to determine, but it appears to be gone on my end.
If nothing else, the flexibiltiy and ease of use makes
