I submitted an online request to schedule an appt. for an estimate. I received an automated message that I would receive a call soon. I did not. I followed up a few days later by email and received a call in a timely manner. The individual I spoke with was friendly and professional and he scheduled an appointment within a reasonable timeframe. He gave me the name of the staff member who would be coming out and he told me that he would call me to confirm and get more details about the job. I never heard from him. I called my initial contact early on the day of the appt. to confirm. He confirmed the appt. Ten minutes later I received an email from the man who was scheduled to come out, asking to move the appt. three days later. Having made plans to be off work for the afternoon, I called back and asked the original contact if he could find someone else to come that day. He was surprised to hear about the message from his colleague and promised someone would come out that day. I then got a another message that the individual who wanted to reschedule would in fact come out. He communicated en route and arrived on time. That was three days ago. I emailed this morning to ask when I could expect an estimate and he said "I will be working on estimates today." No timeline and nothing received by the end of the day. If they have this much difficulty scheduling and preparing an estimate, I am very leery of how they would handle the actual work.
I had called a few home renovation firms listed under "
The following weekend we hired a house cleaner to come before the movers arrived with our boxes and furniture. Same terrible experience -- no one showed up at 7am, and their customer service line didn't open until 8am. The best they could do was get a replacement for 2pm, but since she had to climb over boxes, the job was much less efficient. I'm trying to get reimbursed because I feel cheated and will never use them again.
I called and had them re-schedule the second appointment, which was a total disaster. The price originally quoted was around $1,200, when they came to start the work on our second appointment they realized that apparently an error had occurred in providing the estimate. I asked them to delay work until we could settle out the new estimate.
When we didn't hear back from them for four days with the new estimate info I called them to see what was going on. The new estimate was for more than double the original estimate, for the same work. I asked them if they were at all flexible on this, especially considering the doubling of the estimated costs and they said the best they could do was promise that the new estimate was accurate. Left us with sour taste...
They quoted $800 to install a tankless water heater, which we ended up getting installed by an Angies List plumber for $450...
I took my son to his camp and when I came home at 9:30 they were waiting at my door ready to work.
They started right away, moved a HEAVY (250 lb) custom frameless glass shower door up two flights of stairs, no complaints (let me be clear, this dang shower door scared two other handymen away from doing this job). got right to work, I was downstairs waiting for one of them to come down to tell me there was a problem (because one other
Then they moved downstairs to "shave down" a super tight fitting basement door to the outside, he even asked me if I had touch up paint (which I did) and painted over the part he shaved down to finish it. The key to the lock for that door didn't unlock the door, so he went to Ace Hardware down the street, purchased a new deadbolt/lock and installed that.
The guys were courteous, cleaned up after themselves, and went the extra mile with painting the trim on the door to finish the look.
I will most definitly use this company again.
He sent a colleague who was very skilled -- crafted the window frame from a 2x4; took his time and was very neat in providing the services listed above; was punctual.
Since I did not work with the owner, I am not sure that this review is for
