"Central was truly amazing and a pleasure to work with. I've worked with a LOT of contractors in the past (for our home and small business), and they were probably the best experience I've ever had with a contractor -- which is saying a lot.
The office staff were friendly and fairly responsive. The semi slowness on their responsiveness was literally the only drawback I had in my entire experience with them. Their work crew ( by ) was honestly AMAZING! They were quick, VERY hard working, and the quality of their work was excellent. The most impressive thing about them (aside from the quality of their work) was that they were able to accommodate a lot of unexpected twists and turns in the project, with grace and professionalism. This included the following:
They worked around two other sets of contractors we had working with them at the same time -- a roof deck contractor (demolishing and rebuilding a roof deck), and an HVAC contractor (relocating a compressor that had been on the roof). In two cases, these other contractors left their work undone (or done ineffectively) so that it got in the way of the roofing job. Instead of complaining or delaying, Central just redid the work of these other contractors themselves (better than the other contractors) and got back to their own work. (This was incredibly impressive to me!)
The previous owners of our house didn't properly vent our drier -- so the ventilation pipes ended up under the roofing boards. They cut through the old roof boards, extended the pipes and moved them so that they'd vent properly without getting in the way of our roof deck.
Part of the plan for this job called for running drainage lines from the front side of our roof to the back side of our roof, under an old roof shed that had been built on a small foundation on top of the roof. We expected (initally) that this would be a job, but it turned out that there wasn't enough clearance under the shed to run the drainage lines. To manage this, they had to cut into the floor of the shed (through tile, concrete, and steel flooring) run the lines and then replace the flooring. They managed all of this work and still stayed relatively on schedule. Again, I was impressed with the versatility of the roofing team (not only roofing work, but also, tile work, carpentry, siding, etc.)
They re-ran a water line that we had running up to our roof from ground level (for roof-top gardening). Again, it's the versatility of the roofing team that impressed me. Plumbing was part of their expertise too!
Overall, the experience was simply great!"

"I was referred to and then checked them out on Angie's List and they seemed like they could do what we needed to be done well and at a good price. , owner, came out one morning and looked at our horribly old roof and said he'd send me an estimate. The estimate was not complete, in my opinion, so came out again and we went over everything that we were looking to have done. Soon following that visit, they provided a complete, updated estimate. While we were deliberating between multiple options, they kept in touch and answered many questions that I had, including helping me figure out if the new material would qualify for the federal tax credit. We finally settled on them since their price was by far the best and we had no reason to doubt the quality of their work. Additionally, their schedule allowed them to do the work before the end of 2010 before the temperature would drop and precipitation would threaten the interior. They came promptly on the scheduled day and their foreman got started right away. It was a two day job, but before they left on the first day they cleaned up the staging area and condensed all their materials. They were unable to do the skylight in that two day period because it was not the right size. After ordering and receiving a custom sized skylight (no change in price from the contract), they scheduled its installation and performed it even while we were out of town. The only problem with that was that they couldn't get into the house to clean up the debris that had fallen into the bathroom.
Overall, I am satisfied with the work and certainly the price. There are a few things that I nitpick over, such as the fit of the new roof hatch and the caulking that doesn't completely follow the seams (the layers are adhered, so the caulking is another of protection from moisture incursion). However, the replacement pier cap is disappointing. The existing one is a single piece of metal shaped and soldered. The new one is multiple pieces of metal screwed together, leaving exposed metal edges and visible screw heads. From the street it's hard to tell the difference, but it was not was I was expecting."

"Overall we are very satisfied with the contracting. They came out to repair our gutter right before one storm. And when the next storm proved to be more than the repaired gutter could withstand, they came back(very promptly) to re-replace the gutter for a very nominal fee. Not to mention that they were able to fix a leak that existed for 3 years and other tried to repair. If we have any roofing issues we will definitely be calling them back."

" and his crew provided excellent service. They came on short notice and bailed me out when a previous contractor dropped the ball. They were punctual, good communicators, did what they said they would do when they said they would do it, and didn't try to keep increasing the cost. They are not the least expensive home repair business out there, but their name says it all. They are reliable and they do good work. I would use them again."

"Overall, I would not recommend and Siding for gutter replacement; call a gutter specialist directly.
The estimator, , was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. He sent me an estimate in a timely fashion, and it was a good price. My decision to use Central was solely based on his performance. Unfortunately, he was not with the crew that came to do the work. I emailed my signed estimate back to him on Oct 11th, and asked that they call me to schedule a time to do the work. I did not hear from them by Oct. 22nd, so I called them. They said they could have their crew come out on a weekend, which was great for me. The secretary said she would see if this weekend was possible, and that she would call me right back. She did not, so I assumed this weekend was not possible. However, this morning (Saturday) at 10am there was a knock at my door and a crew ready to do the work. I had plans today, but wanted to get this done.
After they started I went outside and saw that it was, in fact, 'S GUTTERS who was pulling gutters off my house, NOT . If I had wanted to contract with 's, I would have. I believe Angie's List should require companies to list whether they use subcontractors without notifying customers beforehand; or at least add a box to the rating list (along with price and quality) that allows customers to clearly identify for other members whether what you sign off on is what you get.
In terms of 's Gutters, they were very nice, but tried to cut corners. They initially put the downspout in the easy way, draining onto the roof below instead of into the upper gutter, which is how I had asked to do it. They also cut off part of the leaf-relief guard to make it fit more easily, but leaving a raw metal and a space where things could get into the gutter. When I called them on these things (after getting up on a ladder to inspect their work), they did correct them without issue. But then I went out a window later onto the roof to see how the upper gutter had been done, I found that they had done the same thing as what I'd had them fix earlier as below (assuming I would not go up there, I suspect)! I am very glad I took the time to check out their work and look at things closely, or I would have been in no better a situation than I was when I started."

"I like that hey can do slate roof. They have fixed our roof for well for over 30 years. They are a very small company, so sometimes it takes a while to get them. I have no problem since I am an old time customer. We are satisfied with them. They have been reasonable with us. They come twice a year to clean our gutters which are difficult and they need to replace some slate every time, which is not their fault."

"They showed up on time and went straight to work. One gutter was fully replaced while the others were repaired. All of the gutters were to get the "leaf relief". All seemed to go smoothly... until it started to really pour over the summer. The gutters had a 2 yr warranty on them, so I called and asked them to come out to see what the problem might be. They said they would come, and never did. This happened 3 times. Meanwhile, I had flooding in my basement (I rent an apartment there), and my backdoor to my kitchen. I had to use sandbags to keep the water out. My handyman took a look and turns out the 'leaf relief" that I paid so much for, is not porous enough for the water to get into the gutter and therefore just spills over creating a waterfall right in front of the backdoors. So he has removed the "leaf relief" and therefore the problem.
However, I have never heard from again! Not sure what happened to them!"

"We had a salesman come to the house to give us an estimate. We had pretty much decided we would go with their product before we even called them to the house provided their estimate was reasonable. Unfortunately, we still had to sit through an hour long "hard sell" process. Pretty much a waste of our time. In any case, we went with them mainly because a friend of mine used them and really liked the product and because they said they would schedule us within 3 weeks instead of their normal 6 to 8 weeks due to the flooding problems we were experiencing in the house as a result of our old gutters. The reason we haven't given them a higher rating is because we have had to call them 4 times since the initial install to come out and complete the job! There were two sections of gutter that the workers did not replace in the back of the house. They FINALLY came yesterday (one month after their initial visit) to finish the job. Even then, they replaced only one old section and left the second one there. Sheesh! In addition, the woman who answers their service line sounds as though she would rather be doing ANYTHING else but talking to you when you call. We really hope these gutters work well this winter so we can justify the cost and all the time we have spent trying to get them back out to our house to finish what they started."

" has done multiple roof repairs for us. This was the third time we hired him.
After the blizzards, our gutters (and some slate tiles and soffit and facia) were ripped off our roof from the weight of the snow. (Note: had not done the prior work on the gutters -- these were existing when we bought the house.) was great about sending a team out within a day or two of my initial call to clean up the gutters (which crashed to the ground in front of our house) and to put plastic sheeting over the rest of the damaged portion of the roof. He couldn't get to the repair right away (due to all the homeowners with damage during the snow storm), but the plastic sheeting worked really well for the week or so until our project could be done.
His team did a great job once they got out to our job. The are super respectful and polite. The work was great! I really appreciated them making the effort to come out in the midst of all the blizzard clean-up to help make sure we didn't get water damage until they could work on the roof.
We also had him fix our 40+ year old slate roof when we first moved in the house. No leaks since the work was done. and his team definitely know their business of slate roof repair. I called multiple roofers before selecting him and many of them do not did not do slate repair work. I even had other roofers tell me I needed a whole new roof!
I also recommended them to a friend doing an addition (with an old slate roof). They have been very pleased with the work as well."

"The company reps showed up, looked at our roof, then left saying they would let us know if they could fix it, or would recommend someone who could. I wasted valuable time waiting for them to get back to me. They never did. I guess they just can't be bothered if they 't going to make any money from you."
